The 5.0 used cam torque actuated independent VVT, along with a variable geometry intake manifold. Old 3 valves crappy VVT has nothing in common btw. There is a ford work truck here with a weird 3.3 v6 that has had nothing but problems but the 3.7 in my van is issue free alongside the mustang. My classic ranger is the one I constantly have to tinker with stuff on.
