Free software contributions are often driven by people taking responsibility. First, you contribute a bit, then you feel compelled to contribute more or to fix issues with your previous contributions.
But we should not overdo it. Free software is first and foremost volunteer-driven. It should also be fun!
If you are a free software contributor and feel bad about not contributing more because you life does not allow it, don't be stressed over it!

@nprofile…y4jh I do not think there is a plan. Just people finding some things from Org to be useful for other outliners. That's not even contributed by the same people.
To be fair, therer is also new-ish outline-minor-mode-use-buttons, which is a feature that is missing in Org mode.

outline-mode is slowly getting Org mode features. Not too far in the past, outline-cycle-buffer and outline-cycle were introduced. Now, we are getting org-reveal things :)

@nprofile…r0xq Hmm. Yeah, we need more staff :) I plan to do a call for volunteers some time in the future. We need to revive the idea of contributor stewards. Otherwise, I cannot get free time to work on something other than bugs and patches. (e.g. refactoring or now features are all on hold now).

I am feeling a tid bit overwhelmed with patches for the last couple of month, and wanted to see if I am imagining things on hard numbers.
The patches actually look normal-ish. But the number of bug reports is indeed larger. So, I am not loosing my mind and there is really more staff to do.

Finally got to do my "weekly" review. After 5 weeks :) Slowly going through the backlogs. One part of the report is archiving completed tasks. That's a lot of tasks! (To be fair, more than a half are bookmarks from newsfeed that ended up being not very useful).

Ok. That was funny. Reviewed a patch today, just to realize that running the new tests triggers printing (that is - printing with ink).

#orgmode + time blocking is proving being useful again and again.
To keep up with Org mode and Emacs development, I follow all possible news channels and mailing lists, which is 100+ news/emails per day. But I never want to spend too much time on news. So, I only allow <30 min/day for this Usually I just need 10-15 min.
Sometimes, regular schedule breaks (work, life, etc). But I can always catch up simply by spending full 30 min total, in time blocks, every day.
