Yes, I'm very bullish on monero. It will be the only non tradfi-manipulated asset. I was a gold bug and saw paparr gold press down the price of gold for decades.

Just found my new phone for 2026. Privacy and open software first.
Its hard to find the right privacy phone, especially one that works well enough to be a daily driver. I've tried past Linux phones and none really worked.
My next attempt is the Jolla phone 2026

What he's saying is that you're going to need phone verification in order to log in to most websites. You want to log into your bank account and see your balance or do transfers. You'll need phone verification on an approved phone. It doesn't matter if you use Linux to access the website.

I just watched the speech. She does make points that are valid. So I give her that and being critical of any government is always a good thing.
My only issue with her position is she doesn't suggest or state how she would have done things differently. She talks about the breakdown of democracy, but the old government was incredibly corrupt and subject to the violence of the gangs. The old government was definitely not something that we want to bring back in any shape or form.
I agree that some innocents were swept up in the operations to clean up the country. However, when speaking to the local population, the vast majority of everyone I speak to supports what the government has done and is doing.

It has its use cases.

Good luck my friend. I've also been speaking against current compliance measures due to their inefficiencies. You may also want to mention that the FATF sets the standards for anti-money laundering and they are no longer controlled by the United States.
Money laundering is a post-crime, crime. We need to shift our efforts from trying to prevent post crimes to actually preventing the crimes themselves. And that's done by enabling law enforcement.

This is likely going to be an increasingly common narrative.
The F-A-T-F and other organizations, as you know, Lola, are waging a war on self-holstered wallets. So any donations from a self-hosted wallet, which isn't easily identifiable, will immediately bring up a red flag on their systems.
I don't have a solution for you, unfortunately. And I feel a huge amount of sympathy... Unfortunately, this isn't limited to one jurisdiction or country. It will be worldwide soon.
You still have to interact with the fiat system to buy airplane tickets, rent vehicles, or air B&Bs. Unfortunately, Bitcoin only rails just aren't as effective.
One avenue is to pick a jurisdiction and hole up and continue your advocacy online... That's my plan B and I picked El Salvador for that. If things start getting too difficult, I'm retreating.

An alternative would be to embrace boredom.
I know it sounds stupid, but doing nothing and being bored is actually something that kids nowadays don't know how to do, especially somebody with ADHD.
One good way of being bored is to look at a candle burn. Just look at it, nothing else. Let your thoughts go wild. Just don't move and keep looking at the candle.

I looked at the audience when I was on the stage and realized I had to take a much more fundamental approach. We had people like Q&A and Seth, they are talking about technical solutions from the Bitcoin perspective... But when I asked how many people in the audience had a privacy screen on their phone and only three or four people raised their hands that really hit me hard.
Privacy is a state of mind, a way of living your life, and it applies to everything, not just your phone or not just Bitcoin transactions.

I know some high-level individuals in Brave and just like signal they have the intentions in the right place and are trying to do things properly.
You can use your own models and most of the data is held at the browser level.
I'm not saying there aren't any risks. I'm just saying that the vast majority of people use Safari or Chrome. And Brave is a definite step up for them.

Financial institutions currently serve as on and off ramps, which allows Bitcoiners to interact with everyday world. Unfortunately, until every merchant accepts Bitcoin, we do need offramps to convert from Bitcoin to fiat and vice versa.
If these Bitcoin banks simply serve as readily accessible on and off ramps, making Bitcoin more accessible for the population, then I do think they have their good uses.
Believe me, I totally understand what you're saying, but unfortunately, if you go to El Salvador, it's hard to live on a Bitcoin standard.
