We know all of these nonsense ideas proliferating in 'modern' society are going to destroy us but we can only change our own lives.
As it becomes harder and harder for me to do anything constructive, I DO rely on big box sellers like fucking Amazon for a lot of stuff. First I try and find the thing in my local neighbourhood and if it's going to take more than a short taxi ride, I have to veto it and find it online.
Bras, shoes (in my sizes) and many other things can now only be found online. BC simply doesn't have a big enough customer base to support many shops these days.
And I've never been all that healthy so most forms of heavy 'enjoyable' physical work are impossible now.

The only info she was able to find out was that the gov has frozen it. It was her personal account-money she was going to use to get here.

I freaking HATED TEXASSS. My sis and fam "had" to move there because her husband supposedly couldn't get a job here around the time Campbell was firing social workers (we both lost our jobs and never worked f/t again).
They moved to Flower Mound, an upscale suburb of Dallas. AWFUL. Totally racist. We always went to another city, Denton? to go to an 'interracial' bar (seriously that's how ppl referred to it! It basically meant that anyone who wasn't pure white, ie Mexican, Indo-American or Black wouldn't get attacked there) to avoid the racists. I 'had' to keep going down there to help her with her depression and kids between 2004-10.
I've never been back to the states since and I would never go again though I admit that if my maternal grandmother had had a birth cert, I would have applied for citizenship just to have an escape.
Now I don't even have an up to date passport and a 10 yr one is around $240CAD.
One thing you can say for Meghan is that she's not stagnant and she's still pro-woman which is more than you can say for a lot of us these days.
What I do find weird an annoying is that pretty much everyone is pretending that no one should be talking about troonery in Canada. It's still a big dark dirty disgusting SECRET and perhaps she could have made a difference.

This is Vancouver East, an NDP stronghold which will likely vote for Jenny Kwan AGAIN even though she only deals w/ non-Canadian born women. She was born in HK herself. Even though there isn't a huge pop of Chinese in this riding, she defeated the Campbell Lieberals and ppl may not forget that easily.
I'm voting for the Con candidate, apparently also an import, whom I haven't heard a word from and doesn't seem to have an office phone yet.

This is fucking insanity. And it's getting NO PLAY.
I'm not entirely sure what happened but it seemed like very few ppl were behind her on this run. I don't regret signing her onto the ballot but as she had no chance of winning, I was going to vote for the Con candidate - who only had a marginal chance of placing.
I don't think it was fair on her or of her to think she could just drop in from Mexico and run a two week campaign. Just think of the security she'd have needed. ARGH
