I feel one aspect of this is the universal need to narrow down parameters, otherwise it is difficult to get people on the same page. However, personally, I feel like I am "crypto-homeless", as whereas "crypto" spaces lack focus, Bitcoin spaces are too tightly demarcated to allow for new developments in the bona fide financial freedom tech stack.

IMO, the financial freedom tech stack could conceivably be best implemented via Bitcoin + one judiciously chosen L1. The additional L1 would suggest itself in terms of rigorous technological criteria. Are you here for this conversation? In this context, I feel there needs to be more clarity on obvious red flags or patent defects, otherwise everything just gets tarred with the same brush. e.g. I pay them no heed, but afaik meme coins can all be discounted? Similarly, @npub1cn4…3vle disparaging other top 10 cryptos by comparison with #Bitcoin feels like strawmanning as, again afaik, most or all of those don't even purport to have a role in the financial freedom tech stack.
Finally, note that I am not in any way looking to "open the floodgates" and don't have a problem with large swathes of non-BTC crypto being legitimately categorised as shitcoins. Currently, my only goal is to ensure that #Nimiq payment coin gets a fair hearing with regard to its potential role in the financial freedom tech stack.

Interesting, maybe not totally mainstream, but my understanding is that there are documentaries out there with titles like "Stranded" or "Dirty Coin" iirc, making the type of case in favour of Bitcoin which you describe. However, I find it interesting to reflect on the forthcoming Nimiq 2.0 PoS having an inherently much lower energy and hardware requirement to run a validator, and the potential for decentralisation implied by that.

Thanks for this interesting response, which I will admit is somewhat over my head. With regard to #Bitcoin, I frequently hear concerns expressed regarding mining centralisation and my understanding is that the pressure towards centralisation only increases with each successive halving. I think we can agree we have come a long way since Hal Finney & co. were apparently mining #Bitcoin using a CPU - not a GPU, a CPU.
By contrast, the hardware and energy requirement for running a Nimiq PoS validator is much, much lower. So I am interested in whether this might lead to greater decentralisation that centralised PoW mining.

I am not asking you to accept the burden of proof, just that somehow objective criteria need to be set to assess the L1. The burden of proof is then on the L1 to meet those criteria.
Also, I don't feel it makes sense to conflate all "other blockchains" and tar them all with the same brush, even if a very high % of them are shitcoins.
I have one L1 in mind. But I don't feel to show my hand to those who have concluded that *all* other cryptos than BTC are shitcoins, or in a situation where there are no objective benchmarks and the goal posts keep moving!
(And please don't feel these points are in response to you personally. It is just that I feel to lay the ground as best as is possible, given how hard I feel it is for a L1 to gain acceptance.)

I feel you are pre-judging other blockchains, sight unseen. Yes, there are a mountain of shitcoin L1s and L2s out there, and it is not humanly possible to do due diligence on a large number of them. However, I feel the more intellectually honest approach is to establish objective criteria which any candidate L1 would have to fulfill in order to be worth considering. It feels especially important to keep this avenue of discussion open given that LN is still largely offering jam tomorrow, at least in terms of the critical aspect of censorship resistant self custody.

Is bridging the same or different from simply exchanging the BTC for the L1? Obviously, the L1 needs to have sound tokenomics. However, it isn't possible to even carry out that due diligence if one takes the view that all other L1s are shitcoins. Which is ironic, given that viewpoint may confine you to custodial L2 solutions, at least in terms of realistic mass adoption.

Your point about "no-one has it figured out" makes me wonder if that is partly down to barking up the wrong tree! The use case for the additional L1 which I have in mind is that is should be fast & cheap to send, scalable, and highly user-friendly to self-custody. So obviously not ETH. The idea is that a L1 with the properties which I just described could work in tandem with BTC to provide a better solution than any BTC + L2 solution.

I have VPN. Also, I just reinstalled Amethyst and it was obvious from loosing at the default relay settings why it was so heavy in data. But also it was really simple to delete the defaults and just use poster place.

I'm sold on at least trying your bouncer. But on Android, I couldn't get Primal nor Coracle to add the bouncer. But nostrudel seems to have added it immediately, and allowed me to easily find the relay via search.
