I mean …. I’m still thinking about this. Unless farmers use groundwater, does this mean fluoride is (albeit in tiny amounts) in all the food that’s grown in tunnels here? I’m guessing buying organic produce doesn’t guarantee fluoride-free water. Hmmm.

I have yet to visit a country where the air and the water feel so blissfully soft and pure (I swim in the sea most days here), it’s heartbreaking that Ireland is the worst EU country for adding fluoride to the public water supply (90% of households).
Off to buy some gallons of bottled water, because I think micro plastics are the lesser of two evils- gah.

Really thought provoking. Your mention of lights automatically turning on when one enters a room made me think that over time, if not paying attention, the lights could come on imperceptibly earlier, and move from the convenience of “this is how you always tend to move through your house” to suggesting new orders of activity, and soon the human would *physically* follow the digital prompt.
It reminds me of when Pokémon Go came out, and there was footage of crowds of humans moving in the real world like a flock of starlings, obeying a digital order in order to chase down a virtual Snorlax.

So I’m new to Nostr and just posted this in reply to a note. I observed something curious:
As I wrote it, the thought crossed my mind “should I write st*bbed” in order not to be flagged as actually threatening violence, penalized, shadow banned yada yada for what the meanest intelligence can grasp is a humorous figure of speech?
Then I remembered this is Nostr, and no one is expected to dance like a monkey for some algorithm- the reach of your views expands or contracts based on the value that actual humans give to them.
It does creep me out how far the tendrils of self-censorship have infiltrated my thinking.
I think I’m starting to understand the power of Nostr and I bloody love it.

Really pleased for you. Ok so it’s sort of stealth sun - every now and then it peers out from behind a cloud and surprises you with its warmth. Then it buggers off and it rains lightly for a few minutes.
Also, Irish harbour seals are massive.

Re Femmes Orange, if Rachel Geyer is involved it will be excellent. Have been to Edinburgh because it was local, Atlantis in Madiera because my mates were going and it was mainstream enough to take my husband to; and Cape Town which I found disappointingly cliquey and precisely what you feared in terms of no real benefit over YouTube.
I just go to small, local meet-ups now.
