Well so far so good my testing of my private fediverse / mastodon server is gong well. Spooled up a new VPS for configuration and initial testing and now rolled that config into my primary VPS as everything in the last 24 hours checked out.
Now that it's on my prod server I will let it soak for about 7 days and then if all is well I will migrate my account there.
No longer will I been slave to the man that controls the server.!

Last time I checked the manpower for a payment / scanning center per mail piece for complex documents that is about $20. Why should I pay $25 dollars to file electronically if all I have to do is print my forms and mail them?

There is also the DSP for EMI that Google developed for the smart meter programs. Google maintains a repository of the fingerprints and if you thought that Energy Star appliances were just for energy usage reporting it's also a collection point of the type of EMI an appliance produces.

There is a way to build a faraday cage around the back of the meter to prevent signals. Legally you cannot block the meter from sending data is what have found out so far. Any restriction of the meter to report usage and other data is a violation of their terms of service.
But for me to prevent the meter from receiving from the home isn't.

Tried I has a cease and desist latter filed with them when they were rolling out smart meters. A Cook County judge said that ComEd didn't have to comply because of their "Terms of Service" state that they will use Smart Meters but never listed what they will use them for other than "makes the grid more stable". Abou 2,500 people filed these letters with them.

ComEd is now reporting on your electrical usage by appliance. And so far there is no way to opt out. This is a huge privacy problem, they have no right to know when I run my dishwasher, watch TV, or even worse when I am home and when I am away.
