I just tested GPSLogFileUtility.app on MacOS 26 on an Apple silicon mac and it worked to save some logs to KMZ format. Of course I got a warning that it's compiled for Intel and will stop working. I still have a couple of Intel Macs, and will keep them until they crumble to dust for things like this. These days I use an app on my phone to record trails, and the GP-E2 only for geotagging.

It was pretty bloody blowy most of my time at Burton's Well a couple of weeks ago. The walk from BW to the top of mount K-something was easier than I thought it would be, very pretty through the grass trees, and a good view at the top. Sooo many yellow robins too. Recommended.

Nicer version. I don't have any points with the screws on the outside like that, so can't make any measurements. I could send you the code and you could fill in the real measurements and tweak it. The software to render it as STL that the printer could use is OpenSCAD (free).

Depends on the task. Retired now, so projects are just for me. I use Haskell whenever I can, C/++ when I must, OpenSCAD for 3D design, and am playing with ARM64 assembly for no practical reason at all.

Got my 3D printer working again a few weeks ago. Turned out to a job for a spanner, rather than anything electronic – whew! So I'm catching up with some projects. This one has cases for an Arduino and a sealed probe with a buzzer for testing various contact microphones adapted as geophones for listening to subterranean bugs. Accepting suggestions as to where I can stick this probe.

My plan has always been to keep photos, videos, audio, and archival documents off my system disc. System, applications, and current documents on the system disk only. That stays small enough to back up with time machine and DropBox. My latest photos etc are on a thunderbolt connected SSD while I'm likely to want to edit them, but get moved eventually to a RAID box where they are available, but maybe a but more slowly.
