I started also listening to Surrounded By Idiots, but the volume is low and I can't listen in my car on the road. I had never read a Sowell book, just excerpts, but I've been listening to his Basic Economics, 4th Ed. And he reads it himself. It's a little dry but so well done. It's also remarkable that he recongizes Marx and Engel for all their failings, we're very good at understanding economics actually, and that part ignored by many leaders. Not saying Real Marxism works, but there was proper theory in some parts.
Correction: Is read by Tom Weiner, still very good..

This is counter-intuitive, but it's very real.

Wow, was listening to music over the internet, then it got all crackly. I paused it, and the static remained. My speakers were taking interference from a pretty strong radio transmission that came and then went. I caught the tail end of it. Dead silent now.
