I'm in a weird situation at home where we currently have *three* internet connections (which is between 2 and 3 too many), each of which sucks, and one sucks in very different ways than the other two.
Are there any home options (e.g. OpenWRT?) that can do anything clever with multiple upstream connections, beyond just fallback/warm spare? Can you split traffic meaningfully without the upstream provider's help?

My partner is going to Spain; I’m trying to help her get an eSIM for the trip. It looks like most options for getting a voice number give you a UK voice number (even from Spanish providers?). It’s been a long time since I’ve looked at this. Will that work reasonably there? I know it’s all GSM, but will there be extra fees for the “international” call?

I’d like to take a look at some point, but I almost certainly can’t use the patch directly (my mail system is a somewhat poorly integrated mash of erik’s nupas from 9atom and whatever patches made it into 9legacy) and likely won’t have time to really sit with it until the school year starts up again.

imap should sync to upas/fs. This has been frustrating for years, especially since my imap status gets messed up periodically but my upas/fs status never does. A good longer-term goal would be reducing or eliminating the need for the .imp.

Uh, this whataboutism is not helping your argument look better. You don’t need to convince me Israel is behaving badly. I’m 100% on board. But the original suggestion was still antisemitic (“how can we get at the jews?”) and the “but they’re the real antisemites!” is… not the way.

It makes exactly as much sense as how seemingly every Arab or Muslim with a public identity was expected to spend all their time condemning Al-Qaeda for years following 9/11.
His “it wasn’t just Jews but they get all the attention” line is pretty troubling, too. Not only does it undercut his own rationale, but if’s a mighty close rhyme with what we hear from some pretty awful folks.
If you know the guy, I might advise suggesting a little reflection.

I don’t know the guy and the block request sure seems to be reactionary BS, but also: the take he’s being dragged for is hella antisemitic. It conflates all Jews with the current Israeli government. The victims of the holocaust were not “Israel”, so arguing we should shut down memorials because the Israeli government is acting like they didn’t learn the lessons those memorials are intended to teach (a position I agree with!) makes no sense.

Depends on the level of understanding (current and target), but the understanding derivatives of position relative to time helped me. Position->velocity->acceleration (and to a lesser extent, ->jerk) made intuitive sense based on physical experience that was helpful in a different way. If you’ve driven in a car, you’ve *felt* those.
It also gives you the opportunity to introduce the fun fact that the 4th, 5th, and 6th derivatives of position are snap, crackle, and pop. :-)

If you have personally used a django-like web framework in Go, and especially if you've migrated an existing database-based django app that way, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.
For context, I have ~5k lines of python and ~5k lines of templates in an existing app. I like django quite a bit, but continue to be only "eh" on python. The app is in Python 2 (yes, still, I know) and if I have to do the conversion, I'd like to know if there's a better option.

In ~3 weeks, 5yo and I are taking a trip to New York City (my partner has an unrelated work trip elsewhere at the same time). I grew up nearby, my father grew up in the city and worked his whole career there, I’ve spent a lot of time there and feel like I know the city well, but (A) it’s been a while, and (B) I’ve never thought about it in terms of showing a five-year-old around.
Given her interests, Liberty Island and the Natural History Museum are high on my list. Anyone have any other tips?

tl;dr: if you're looking for a Firefox alternative, try Waterfox.
Safari's my primary browser, but I've used Firefox beside it forever. Given their current trajectory, I've been trying out alternatives. Chromium-based things are out for me (not interested in trading one set of problems for a worse set). The main contenders which run on macOS I've found seem to be LibreWolf, SeaMonkey, Pale Moon, and Waterfox.
If you care about broad compatibility, Waterfox seems to be the best choice so far.

The best verses are the ones fewest people know. Those lines really resonate with me, as well.
For what it’s worth, I don’t think of his “power” thing as being inherently in conflict with this. “Power to the people“ is about spreading that power around, making it diffuse and distributed. I think it’s a little reductive, but it doesn’t (inherently) undermine the ideas of democracy and constitutional law.

RMS’s history of bad, gross behavior is making the rounds again, with a lot of apologists rehashing very tired arguments. Two points:
1) The bar for leadership in community organizations should be a hell of a lot higher than “probably not indictable“.
2) “Free speech” does not mean “speech free from consequences”. Yes, RMS is free to espouse his gross-ass positions… and everyone else is free to say “ew, gross, gtfo“.
