I sold a spare break action double barrelled shotgun that I never use and purchased the first round of materials yesterday for building the “quail condo”. This is the design I am running with. Each of the enclosed box sections of each level will have a heat lamp for cold weather and an insulated tarp over the whole unit should help to keep eggs from freezing, since quail tend to plop out eggs anywhere in their enclosure rather than in a nesting spot. I’m looking forward to finally having some protein production capability on our town lot. My recommendation would be make sure you don’t buy a fiat house with exterior finishes and roofing that’ll need replacing in 10-15 years. And purchase it for it’s utility value and the likelihood that you can make the ground it sits on PRODUCE something like food and animal protein to offset your living costs and get you through hard times, not to impress anyone. @npub1587…kv0n just did a great episode of The Survival Podcast dedicated to some of these topics. Great episode! I have to boost the crap out of it later tonight.

Yes it’s funny I bought it first with this nice looking hammered finish powdercoat and within a week it was peeling. So I got the black one and it rusts very easily. Apparently it’s a known issue with Remington the last few years.

It’s hard to believe it was 23 years ago today that I was driving to look at a tree estimate in West Kelowna BC at this hour, when I first heard the report of the first plane hitting the WTC. 23 years, and still no justice for those families who lost loved ones, or the hundreds of first responders that have since become ill or died from the toxic atmosphere at ground zero that was deemed safe by the EPA. All for a false flag attack that was at best permitted, and at worst committed by elements within the US government.
This was the acid test that let the military industrial complex know that they could now get away with ANYTHING, without a critically thinking population to oppose them.

It’s pretty inexcusable in a day and age when people can add an annual repeating reminder into their phones in about 20 seconds. We do this for birthdays and anniversaries of employment at our company and it’s nice. Everyone lights up the company group text when one comes up.

It’s fun. Solving it was one of the first things I used YouTube to learn, back before YouTube became horseshit. I too have since forgotten the algorithms and the order but still have them on a cheat sheet somewhere. It felt good to legitimately be able to hand it to someone to mix up and hand it back to them solved in a few minutes. I’m finding it’s something that once accomplished is hard to invest time in again. I’m sure one cold winter day I’ll pick it up again. If I find the sheet I used I’ll send a picture of it. It made it easy to memorize each algorithm.

Nice day in the bush. I just took a few shots with the .270 at the pit near our usual deer camp, to make sure the rifle was still sighted in. Not a stellar pattern, but the first shots of the season were all good enough for solid vital hits. The first one was in the 3” spot, and the pattern was about 3”. I have it zeroed at 200 yd so it’s supposed to be 2” high at this 100 yd distance. Another couple sessions before game day and I should be dialed again.
Then we went to the lake and old original campsite a few miles away to splash around with the dog and catch some rays with a few bevvies. Ended up buck assed naked hoping no one would drive into the camp before the afternoon was done lol. May have traumatized the dog.
