I wish I could see likely outcomes from this, but it's too confusing.
Like how would a crash play out?

I think the real point is that there is no policy.
I read Theo's reply on the mailing list.
It wasn't a policy, (even though it's kinda the closest thing there
is to one).
It was merely a reply to someone.

I don't see your reasoning. Because OpenBSD already contains
LLM code it's OK to put more in?

OpenBSD ports mailing list is talking about importing
claude and anthropic and other crap.
I'm dissapointed at the lack of pushback.
I like OpenBSD but not that much.

Messenger bag?
I was looking to get a larger messenger bag.
I have the generic and also pretty big timbuk2 bag
from ~20 years ago. Who makes a current good
super heavy duty bags now? (like the older timbuk2)

I am glad I (mostly) own my house, and that I don't need to
purchase any ram or computers that need ram.
I do realize that makes me lucky, it's timing that separates me
from the person 10 or more years younger than me that doesn't
own a house or excess computers.
I used to complain that I don't have a super nice house like
the people 10 years older than me. But seeing what ppl
are having to pay for rent has cured me of that.
My point is that I know I didn't "earn" being 10 years older.
I didn't earn being a straight white male born in the US.
I might even be glad that I'm fat and have social issues, because
if I didn't I wouldn't know what "no" sounds like, and I'd
probably feel like I am special and earned my privileges.

I quit my high paying job mostly because I was pigeonholed into developing with
OpenAI/LLM/agents RAG and all of that. I was even good at it, but it is all so stupid to me.
Across the company they were starting to make us use copilot.
It got to the point that writing good code and developing cohesive systems
was not even on the radar. It was all just vibe code BS. I couldn't do it.
I guess I'm a luddite, but I don't care. I am one of those people that
thinks deleting code is usually of higher value than adding code.
I've always worked with mostly programmers that kinda just went along,
but usually the lead programmers were at least decent to good.
Not anymore at the job I was at. It was all hype, BS, and garbage code.
I worked for a while doing maintenance kind of work on large java projects.
I know how painful it is to fix code where people just added and added and added.
It's like the US tax code.

Great post.
I compare it to oil.
There is no "second dose".
It's basically been used up.
The first dose of content took "generations" of internet use.
They effectively used all of it. It won't just regrow like a crop.
It's also like oil in that they expend more resources to get
to lesser caches of it. Which is what they are doing now
because all of the big wells are dry.
Lesser input... I won't lament the loss of reddit or stack-overflow.
They are closer to walled gardens than open forums.
I have come to think corporate owned sites can never be
truly open. But the metrics and/or conclusions you are pulling
from them is still useful and valid.

I feel like a Luddite talking about LLM/AI.
Luddite is not a bad word to me.
I want to be clear I do not have a problem with the technology
itself. Especially the underlying technology.
Neural nets, and fitness functions and genetic algorithm study
is all great. (to name a few areas of study)
I have a problem with taking this half baked thing (LLM) and pretending
it is something else. And then giving this half baked thing
unlimited resources to cook. And the unlimited resources are
not to improve it to be clear, but to run this half baked thing as is.
And then the audacity to say this half baked thing (LLM) now get's
to have a voice in society. These are not sentient robots.
When there are sentient robots I will fight for their rights.
LLM is more like mailmixer.
LLM is just enshittification manifest. It's the ultimate way
to do whatever you want and not take any responsibility.
It is like tarot cards. I like tarot cards. But I don't want to go to
the bank and have the loan office pull out tarot cards.
Or go in front of a judge and they pull out tarot cards.

I just watched Pantheon. It was good. Scavengers Reign was better.
Weirdly I need to consider shows parables sometimes to not be annoyed by
