I'll keep going. The poor performance comes my attempt to game the TypeScript compiler, in order to avoid type assertions (the `as` keyword) and the `any` type.
I'll just create a library with the same philosophy that I had, but instead focuses on performance, and write more unit tests to provide confidence that the library does what it says it does.
After all, my library promises to really not be a library at all; it's just a "suggested" set of validators that code to the `Validator` interface.

I have finally released version 1.0 of hyperguard library that I have written 4 years ago, but has been sitting in version 0.1, 0.2, and finally 0.3 without any update since.
Version 1 improved the API, and some refactoring was made to remove the reliance of the `any` type.

Speaking of hot sauce, I once got capsaicin poisoning.
Not fun.
Thankfully, the medical literature seems to point to it being generally a non-issue, other than extreme pain, enough for someone suffering from it to call an ambulance.

I don't think they are doing a better job citing their sources.
That said, maybe it's not Perplexity itself, but the fact that it is a step above what ChatGPT and Claude do: text generation with up-to-date information, relevant to what was typed out and submitted in their text field.
Google is absolutely terrible for what I'm looking for, and with limited context Claude and ChatGPT both hallucinate.
Perplexity at least pulls up relevant information, which I can then cross-reference with Google Scholar.

Fair.
That said, I think this forceful "housing is a right, and people shouldn't be homeless" is having the opposite effect, paradoxically.
I like to think that a better way is that rather than the government merely acting charitably (using tax dollars) to help the unhoused, in addition to that, they should participate in the market, competing with private housing suppliers already in the market.
Take away the "housing is a right" mandate, and instead look at other metrics: housing cost, and managing it by managing supply or adjusting costs, make profit, and use the profit to house the unhoused.

I know this is a sampling bias, but I'm noticing some signals, and it's serious.
When I logged onto Bluesky, I've seen a few people claim that they are developing for ATProto because the community of users (not necessarily the devs) in the ActivityPub world are insanely hostile against certain behaviours on the Fediverse.
Like even the mention of an "algorithmic feed", gets people really losing their mind.
The immaturity is really pushing people away, and that's sad.

- Locally fork the thread (each fork can be browsed with arrow buttons at the bottom of the prompt message)
- Just edit the prompt and generate the immediate response, keeping rest of the thread the same

What actually sucks about the GENIUS Act: stablecoin holders get first dibs if the stablecoin issuer defaults.
Who can be issuers?
Federally insured banks and subsidiaries.
If these banks commingle deposits with reserves, then this will force banks to dip into deposits, if reserve alone fails to cover claims.
Good thing is, the FDIC will ensure up to $250K of deposits, but what this means is that the FDIC is effectively subsidizing bad decisions from banks.
This is the *only* argument against the act that I actually find is what we should absolutely find concerning.
However, I find that the majority of regressive leftist fedidiots and fedimbiciles who can't read are making all sorts of other arguments against the act, none of which should be taken seriously. Unfortunately, them repeatedly making these dumb arguments weaken the cause of highlighting how bad the proposed law is

Eh, the SEC is slightly more lax about that.
An issuer having their coin classed as a security just can't be dishonest, or deceive people. Which, could almost lead to a 1:1 reserve requirement, but it doesn't stop the entity issuing stablecoins to have their coins be backed by risky assets. That and also, the SEC doesn't mandate redeemability, either.
The new law makes it clear: 1-to-1, and backed by cash or cash equivalents, with added mandatory redeemability.

I guess the approach people want: let some traders within some states fail, and in states that literally spells out redeemable tokens (such as in Wyoming), let them get the protection 🤷‍♂️
Again remember, in the current laws, no protection (e.g. no reserve requirements), and under the new proposed GENIUS Act, there is strict 1:1 reserve requirement.

old law: no federal oversight. If one's true intention was to provide a truly 1:1 backed stablecoin, then they were required to register as a Money Services Business under the FinCEN legal framework (compliance with BSA, AML, KYC, rules) and apply for a license in every state to be fully compliant in the entirety of the United States. This is assuming the stablecoin issuer has no plans to bear yield for coin holders—in that case they'd be classed as a security under the SEC.
new law: federal oversight, with possible delegation to states that have regulatory frameworks similar to the federal one, for stablecoin issuers with less than $10 billion in reserve. Still required to be in compliance with BSA, AML, and KYC rules. Absolutely illegal to have coins bear yield.
So you're right.
It does make it easier.
But remember, under the current law—assuming the stablecoin issuer does not accidentally trigger SEC enforcement—it provided absolutely zero guarantee to stablecoin holders and traders.

Interesting.
Here's my interpretation.
I knew that before Trump's second term, crypto was heavily regulated.
After Trump, his leadership relaxed a lot of the regulations.
But even with him at the helm, the new GENIUS Act actually reintroduces some regulations, particularly, previously, briefly during Trump's second term, stablecoins were no longer classed as a security, but with the new GENIUS Act, stablecoin issuers are now required to follow a lot more rules.
But that's my interpretation of the chain of events.
Bear in mind, the reason why I want something like the GENIUS Act to come to Canada is because the current regulatory framework in Canada puts less faith in stablecoins on Canadian-based companies. There really needs to be a tight leash on Canadian companies who issue stablecoins. The GENIUS Act is strict, in the event of the issuer going belly up.
Had Canada had its own GENIUS Act, I'd probably feel a lot more confident.

Depending on what is meant by "without financial regulations", just to get this out of the way:
- makes it illegal for anyone other than regulated entities to issue stablecoins
- requires reserves to be held 1:1 in safe assets and short-term T-bills or repurchase agreements
- prohibits risky activities such as lending out reserves (unlike banks)
- imposes regular audits, and CEO/CFOs must certify monthly reports
- prioritizes customer claims in bankruptcy, above all other creditors
That said, what people could be concerned about:
- creates a new class of regulated non-bank issuers
- allows state-level regulation, but only if the state-level regime is substantially similar to the federal one
What it leaves out:
- doesn't regulate decentralized tech providers
- whether or not sitting Presidents (such as Trump) is permitted to issue stablecoins, or even the more stricter, sitting presidents having any amounts of stake in issuers (such as USD1).
Even then, regulations still apply to Presidents.

I tried with a bare Node.js server, no Express. Just the native http module.
It still doesn't work.
I think it's because the methods are hard coded directly into Node.js.

That said, my life thesis is this: it never hurts to try.
Especially blockchains these days. Other than Bitcoin, most blockchains have moved away from proof of work and onto proof of stake, so the fears of environmental impact should no longer be there.

A lot of people on Twitter try really hard to roast people who post on there. Like, you could be posting about eating a sandwich and someone will try really hard to find something funny about it post it in the comments.
Not sure if it's a place that attracts people who are into roasting random strangers or something else.
Someone I know told me that they are highly nihilistic on Twitter, because some billionaire bought it. For that reason alone, he's trying to fuel Twitter into an even bigger dumpster fire. That could also partially explain it?

As much as I am a staunch advocate for unit tests, my bias is to take advantage of the compiler as much as possible, then write unit tests if we're unable to capture logic errors from compile-time failures.
