I lived in China, so running infrastructure was prohibitive due to networking challenges. So yes I used other "trusted" nodes by people I knew for Sparrow, Monero and Ashigaru...
Tangent, but look at LN. It is inherently a system where you build trust and have to trust people. You don't open channels to untrusted or unreliable people...
E.g., I "trusted" your Olympus node and kept it full for spending, yet you still closed my channel to you... Now I use WoS to collect tips rather than fussing with the trust model of LN...
And let's be fair, spending with monero is way better than managing Lightning... Hence why only custodial LN has the UX needed to get adoption. And the capacity of LN is laughable small.

I've had the opposite experience. Order online food and select the toggle for no cutlery. Only to have plastic cutlery arrive because the worker layer, driver layer and app layer weren't really in sync. They're just rushing to push out orders.
So I get them having a default of not providing. I'd prefer that. Still sucks though...

Eigenwallet.
Their BTC wallet has a FIXED bitcoin address and the swap does NOT allow you to pay via an external wallet like Ashigaru. And doesn't even go to 8 decimals.
I imported w/ sparrow wallet. Sent in more BTC. But they show up ONLY in Sparrow and are NOT visible or spendable.

Haven't had a credit card in years.
Never touch my bank card except to withdraw cash from an ATM. (My salary is in fiat and goes into a bank)
Cool thing is that in Thailand one can buy Bitcoin anonymously because of cardless withdrawal from ATM.
It works since the counterparty at the ATM doesn't need your name to process the transaction. You do that from home on the sofa wjth your phone. They merely send you the QR on the ATM terminal display

I was using neovim.
But every time I tried doing something with the support of an LLM, it would give me commands using nano... I got tired of fighting the default.
And to be fair, for light use, such as that in my OP of changing one line in a config file, nano is sufficient.
