It is bad choises all around.
Using a second hand phone reduces the climate impact a bit but you're increasing the value of the device which is from an U.S. company. Especially one that has currently increasingly stupid ideas how Android should evolve.
In the end everybody has to pick their poison.

I finally managed to build a image for my #Raspberrypi using #disko.
The Pi boots with UEFI and has a LUKS paritition containing BTRFS.
There is still a lot to do but I'm getting really close to a usable state.
I still find it very satisfying to build these kind of things with #NixOS

I think it is a nice idea to highlight why we like working with #Nix and #NixOS to remind us, why we all are doing this in the end.
For me it is still the best experience in #freesoftware I ever had.

Well then you should upgrade.
Both on 25.05 and unstable signal-deskop is on 7.54
7.56 is in master since two days so should arrive soon as well.

Oh wow, I think #KDE is becoming my favourite desktop environment ever.
I wanted to rip a CD and was a bit confused that I wasn't able to open the disk.
Turned out that my #NixOS setup was missing the KIO AudioCD package.
After installing it, I was surprised to see a bunch of additional directories and thought they might be part of the disk only to realize that there wouldn't be enough space for it.
Turns out that the AudioCD package transparently shows you a bunch of conversion options which you then just have to drag and drop to the new location.
Simply brilliant.

When I was younger I was gaming a lot on PC but I don't have that much time anymore and when I want to play a game the Switch was really nice to just pick up and get going.
However besides Zelda I'm not that much into their usual games and I'm really happy that there are some good "serious" games on this platform.
The selection is more than enough for the amount of time I can dedicate.
For a while I experimented with cloud gaming but Shadow PC was the only thing that really worked and they got really expensive.
In addition my girlfriend had really shitty internet so cloud gaming was out of the Window anyway.
I know there is the #Steamdeck but sometimes it's good to have a device I can't fuck around with.

Today I took some time to see if I could improve a script by converting it to Python from Bash .
While It was more verbose than the Bash script I felt I had a much better grasp at what was going on.
In the end I then scrapped the whole thing because I found that I could just use `fd` directly with.
Investigating your tool is often worth it :)

As per @npub19t5…qnld’s recommendation I bought a Platinum Prefounte.
I’m very impressed by it.
The writing is very smooth and the pen only costs 17$.
Two things I don’t like are the proprietary cartridges and the plastic grip can get a bit slippery.
It still dries out but you shake it and it easily starts working again, not like my other pens that you then have to wet to get them going again.
Really happy with this purchase overall.

Hm the Platinum would be available here and is reasonably priced.
A bit stupid that it uses proprietary cartridges.
And now I'm sad that my Lamy cp1 doesn't have a cap seal, I love that pen.

The main issue is the ink drying out because I don't use the pen often enough and that is with the pen that I carry with me.

Do any of you have a good alternative to a #fountainpen ?
I really like the way they feel when writing but dealing with the ink is a bit of a hassle.
So far a Pentel Energel has been the best alternative because it gives a nice consistent line but it could have a but more resistance.

You can do it the other way round.
Mine are configured:
Super/Alt/Shift/Ctrl
In terms of frequency I should probably move Alt to the pinky.

What is the easiest way to get a list of all included packages in #emacs ?
I just realized that I used the outdated `use-package` from the package manager and I would like to check if I missed any of the other packages.

Yeah but Todoist isn’t that expensive for what they offer IMO and the price has been quite stable.
I wish orgmode would work better on Mobile ( especially the sync) that’s the number one reason why I moved away from it for task management.

I've updated my main computer to #NixOS 24.11.
So far it has been working quite well except for one small detail.
The Volume widget in #qtile isn't working properly anymore.
It just shows the muted icon the whole time and clicking it doesn't change anything.
Haven't seen anything in the logs yet.
