Just remembered the name of an influencer whose face came across my search today. Was proud of my aging brain.
I thought back to May 2022 when I really went down the rabbit hole.
I suppose I am aware of the greater percentage of interesting people in Bitcoin now.
FOUR years of daily bitcoin, for hours, and what have I got to show for it?
- A small to moderate amount of knowledge.
- A teensny, weensy, tiny bit of Bitcoin, but still proud, considering circumstances
- STILL unemployed, broke, and trying to figure out how to earn Bitcoin.
- Most of the Democrat knocked out of me (will never vote MAGA though - may never vote again at all, I don’t know)
- Started an AI faceless and animation Bitcoin YouTube channel for beginners (paused for poverty of time)
- My suspicions of the actual world secret control systems have been confirmed and expanded. (Still shocking)
- Reopened a two-year-old Nostr account and started using it (haven’t fixed the nip 05 wallet problem yet).
- A whole lot of passion for being in control of my own world, eventually.
- Became obsessive about seeking the pathways that lead to digital privacy in every way possible.
- Learned how to get some wild sats (when I have any fiat).
-Started assisting about 6 newbies into the bitcoin world.
- Suggested to the community that we collaborate on setting up a plan B in the country somewhere for when the sh-t hits the fan (none of them went for it, but I’ve become a skills and list-making prepper😂 for the time when some of them may want to plan for it).
- I become more and more Plebby by the day.
- Finally trying to figure out how to set up a node, with limited resources, I’d look for the cheapest miner possible too…
It’s not a lot in four years, but it’s not nothing, I suppose.😅

I haven’t got to the node running part yet, (what is the method to do it as an unemployed, single mama distracted w survival issues? I’m still trying to figure out how to provide value for sats), (I’ll look it up soon and see if it can be started with an external hard drive…)
and I don’t really understand all the tech arguments, but from listening to everyone arguing about the Core/Knots fight, the main things that I have taken away were: even if exorbitant pricing deters people from putting non-monetary stuff on the blockchain, that one set of bitcoiners tried to silence another group with no discussion (blocking Mechanic from the chat?);
one set of bitcoiners “in charge” is an alarm bell to me;
and taking away a filter choice in Core 30, seems uncool (is it even still possible to download the version before 30 and wouldn’t people have to upgrade to 30 at some point anyway, even if they didn’t want to?);
adding stuff to what’s supposed to be peer-to-peer money seems not so good and confusing;
hearing somewhere recently that in the last few years alone, the blockchain has 70% extra bloat w non-monetary data, making it harder and harder to download a copy of the blockchain seems pretty dang sketchy for anyone of lesser means to run a node (?);
and regardless of the tech, which I don’t really get yet, it seems natural to me that having more than one implementation is more “decentralized” than just having Core in charge and telling everyone how it’s going to be… seems anti-thetical to what Bitcoin is meant to be.
Why couldn’t Core, Knots, and others exist at the same time, allowing for choice?
Anyway, the very first thing that fascinated me about bitcoin when I heard about it was, that people could hold their own money with no middle man and that banks hated it (made my freedom flag stand up taller with intense curiosity)
It wasn’t “number go up” for me at the start, it was self-sovereignty. That I could leave a system where we were all at the mercy of greedy people in charge and exchange value with others directly. Amazing.
That was from a ten-minute conversation. I didn’t even know about “number go up” in that discussion…. I was just fascinated about the idea of being in control of my own world…
I am grateful to that stranger for telling me about Bitcoin, planting the seed for me.

signal.link and Voidmob have data and consistent activation numbers, anonymous, pay w Bitcoin, remember to renew on time to keep same number. Good for Graphene phones.
I’m stuck down under and can’t remember if I can use those numbers here, but you can check Jor if their US/UK numbers will work for Signal and other verification platforms you want to use.
I think I saw one year for a number cost about 90,000 or 100,000 sats (?).

I will crack the book open to this section at some point and have a look. Little problem I have though, is how many humans had a hand or a brain in the translations and passing down all this information over the years, and how many potentially biased and fallible human thought process affected the ultimate translations that we have today.
I believe in Jesus, I just don’t know if we can separate out all the good and the bad from us or our abilities… some people use beautiful tools for bad and some for good, and we’ll free will doesn’t make incongruencies… it just allows us to make choices with existing beauty that may be not so cool and hurtful to others, setting us backwards a bit…
But, that said,
When I personally set my mind and prayers with Jesus, I feel love and goodness.
I believe it is for all. The ones making congruent choices with their aptitudes and the ones choosing incongruous behavior and deeds….
BUT
give me time, I will crack a copy of the Good Book open when I can and have a read of the the text leading up to and after the parts you have brought up….

I was watching a bunch of Bitcoin bros on a pod that we probably all know and most love. >;-)p
At some point in the middle they didn’t have anything better to add to their discourse than to show a picture of a bunch of Dems, one with a mask on and others of varying ethic backgrounds, several were women, shouting their support behind Mamdani… and insult them for being the opposite of Bitcoin, basically, the way it hit me.
Normally I listen to what these guys talk about to take the Bitcoin temperature of the world, but I lost the mood for that day when I saw them sink to this level.
This was my comment to them:
“Guys it’s just a bunch of poor folk who haven’t been awakened to the psyops and the narratives yet. They’re like babies who need understanding and guidance. Not insults and abuse. C’mon. You guys are supposed to be “better than the Gap” with your knowledge and comments…(Crazy, Stupid, Love movie reference)
I’m a Dem, used to be flaming Dem with strong belief, who was fortunate enough to hear about Bitcoin at the right moment to send me fully down the rabbit hole to seeing the shame of the system and being disgusted. (Me, an unusual bitcoiner as an ENFP-A). Honestly I don’t feel like voting anymore, maybe might turn independent or libertarian now…
HOWEVER, the people you are insulting, standing behind Mamdani, are like babies who just don’t know yet. Like I was. Like you all were. We do not have to be so tribal that we fall to the level of throwing insults at normies who know nothing about the Matrix.
Throw your insults at the power people and those who actually know better and are still trying to control the world. Those people you are insulting are the ones we maybe need to focus on turning, as I was turned, with a seed planted and patience.
If there is no red and no blue, as your intro states, maybe clean this up? So we can safely guide our planetary children to your pod. Without them seeing that and running away for a few more years.
Lately I’ve been seeing more bitcoiners angry with the innocents who are having trouble even looking at bitcoin (95% of the world?), and I don’t understand the prejudiced lack of compassion towards the sheep.
