The kernel level seems reasonable, anything in userspace is in a less convincing state unfortunately. Fixing and completing this shouldn't be too hard, but needs a few decisions on the direction.

Interesting analysis, and indeed a perfect topic for @npub13py…9w0z :)
There's a few people in #opentransport:matrix.org looking at this for archiving static and realtime data as well. While the focus there seems to be efficient differential storage, there's probably quite a bit of overlap.
For offline routing there's also experiments using extracts in the MOTIS-internal data format in client apps directly, together with CoMaps.

Beobachtung über die letzten Monate dazu hier: Es scheint eher zufällig zu sein (tendenziell häufiger im Ausland, seltener im ICE WiFi). Wenn man davon getroffen wird hilft es den User-Agent zu wechseln (egal wozu!). Das Spiel wiederholt sich dann alle paar Anfragen.

On the way back home from joining the @npub18x8…fzxm Community Meeting at Linuxhotel in Essen for two days, for working on various organizational details for the @npub13py…9w0z conference.
We should be able to open the registration soon, later than originally anticipated but at least we wont have to run a 100+ attendee conference as a few individuals without a legal entity behind this anymore.

I'd say this isn't even limited to flights but common to all (long distance) travel. Both multi-criteria routing algorithms and UIs for more manual control (e.g. [@trans_europe_planner](https://fosstodon.org/@trans_europe_planner )) are being looked into to help with that.
Cost/availability is currently tricky to consider given the lack of open data. But e.g. optimizing uninterrupted sleep time on night trains could be possible.
Either way, the first step is getting the basic schedule data in, all the above builds on top of that.

Experimenting with adding international flights to @npub1c64…jwxh. Performance seems to hold up and we indeed get working multi-modal door-to-door routing from e.g. Brussels to Tokyo.
There's a few issues with the router cheating around minimum transfer times that need to be sorted out before this could be deployed though.

Spontaneous #KDE sprint in @npub1rcz…uu2f's kitchen yesterday. Last time we did that it started the work on the per-trip timeline view of Itinerary. This time a lot of effort had to go into damage control due to the rumored imminent shutdown of Deutsche Bahn's Hafas API endpoint that much of the FOSS public transport tooling depends on.

Changed #KDE Itinerary to use a new API for Deutsche Bahn coach layouts after the previously used one disappeared. At least we got a small benefit out of that, quantities for vehicle features such as bike and wheelchair spaces.
