Armed Robbery Turns Violent on Chicago Sidewalk, Woman Shot A 28-year-old woman was shot and robbed Monday night in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on Chicago’s Northwest Side, according to police. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 5700 block of West Diversey Avenue, where an armed suspect approached the victim while she was walking on the sidewalk. Authorities said the offender pulled out a firearm, demanded the woman’s belongings, and then struck her with the weapon before opening fire.
