If you are still having issues after updating, here are a few troubleshooting tips:
• Log in to iTunes
• Log out then back in to iTunes
• Leave iTunes running while AltServer is running
• Delete the folder C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes\adi
• Reinstall AltStore with AltServer

if your Apple ID is Japanese and you set your App Store region to Japan, yes you should be able to install PAL if you’re in Japan!
There might be some delay before your device registers you’re in Japan however, so may not work immediately

unfortunately if you updated to iOS 26.1 before updating AltStore PAL, the only way to make apps re-appear in My Apps is to delete them and reinstall 😕
We are working with Apple though and they’ve confirmed a fix should be available in an upcoming iOS update (e.g. 26.1.1), and we’ll let you know once that’s available

⚠️ Apple is blocking Delta’s iOS 26 bug fix update
Despite announcing they would no longer hold up bug fix updates for guidelines violations, Apple called us directly saying they would not approve Delta’s iOS 26 bug fix update unless we added In-App Purchases worldwide.
We've only offered IAP in the US since adding them last December, and have released multiple updates since without issue. This sudden ask would take more time than we’d like and significantly delay these bug fixes for our users.

unfortunately yes this is true — to distribute an app with AltStore PAL (or any other alternative marketplace) you still need to pay Apple $99/yr to join their paid developer program.
However, you can distribute apps with AltStore Classic completely free by just providing the app file (.ipa) for users to download. Downside is users will need a computer to install them, and they’ll expire after 7 days

correct, only AltStore Classic itself can be installed/updated without AltServer. All other apps still require AltServer running on the same WiFi network to be sideloaded

ah sorry for the confusion, tl;dr the fact your current version says 2.1.7 is actually a bug that’s fixed in that new version (it was accidentally showing internal version # instead of public one)
The latest update should say “2.1.6” 🙂

🙋‍♂️ To answer some questions: Hot Tub is NOT visible in AltStore PAL by default, and it is not a Recommended Source
You must explicitly add its source before it will appear in AltStore PAL — just like the majority of AltStore apps. This means you'll only see it if you want to 🙂

Online Multiplayer will be available for EVERYONE with Delta 1.7, so to make setup as easy as possible you no longer need to manually change the DNS to connect to 3rd-party WFC Servers
Just choose from 3 of the most popular servers in Delta’s settings, or provide a custom DNS for your preferred server and you’re good to go!
