En direct de l'atelier, mon tout premier monotype*. J'étais pas certain que ça marcherait bien, mais je suis ravi.
(* Au lieu de graver une plaque pour faire de multiples tirages, on "peint" directement à l'encre sur une plaque vierge avant de passer sous presse, pour un tirage unique)

[Blog] Avant de passer définitivement à autre chose, petit billet rétrospective du #Inktobird qui vient de s'achever. Même si j'ai pas trop besoin de prétexte pour dessiner des oiseaux habituellement, c'était vraiment génial de le faire de manière si régulière pendant un mois !

Les jours 19 à 21 des oiseaux du mois : sittelle torchepot, troglodyte mignon, faucon crécerelle.
Il reste encore 10 jours mais mon carnet de dessin actuel est officiellement le plus coloré de tous ceux que j'entasse depuis des années :)

Les oiseaux 16 à 18 de la série : mouette rieuse, pigeon ramier, roitelet huppé.
Le style continue à muter, pas pu m'empêcher pour ceux-là de booster un peu les couleurs :)

La date est un multiple de trois, dans mon planning ça veut dire nouvelle fournée :)
Faisain de Colchide, pic épeiche, butor étoilé.
(Faites pas attention à l'image du faisan nettoyée à l'arrache, dans mon carnet il empiète sur le corbeau trop sage de la dernière fois)

BTW, it was a lovely time at the workshop. It's often not the case but I was totally alone, away for some hours from the horrors of the world, just having my improvised project to think about and my folk playlist to listen to. It was Fairport Convention during this "first reveal" :)

Yesterday I learned about the passing of Norman Ackroyd, an English printmaker whose work I admire and feel deeply connected to. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Ackroyd
As I had an afternoon planned at my workshop for today, I made a kind of homage, using the same technique as his (aquatint) on an old sketch close to his favorite subjects.
It took 5 hours from blank plate to test print, trying not to overdo it, and I think I like it.

[Annonce expo] Je suis allé accrocher mes gravures au Bistrot des Artistes tout à l'heure. Elles y resteront toute la semaine, alors si vous êtes dans le coin (Paris 5) allez y faire un petit tour !
Et si vous hésitez sur le jour, passez mercredi soir, je serai sur place pour fêter ça, et intarissable pour expliquer les techniques de gravure en long et en large :)
