It causes more AI labs to work on efficiency, which the US labs currently have little interest in doing because they want everyone to depend on their giant trillion dollar data centers. We will get more efficient AI and our hardware back when this bubble bursts, hopefully sooner than later.

Yes! Not sure how it’s going to happen but something that seems promising for that is the apparent viability of having smaller clusters of GPUs (such as in a satellite) connected with high-bandwidth lasers or fiber and operating as a larger logical cluster. Seems pertinent to decentralized AI compute with each small cluster potentially individual owned and paid with crypto.

Every society you’re in will also have other illegal content, just differing depending on the society’s politics. Pornographic (non-CSAM) and anti-religious content in right-leaning societies, 3D-printed gun CAD and “misinformation” in left-leaning ones. My plan is to just run my node and forward transactions regardless of content people say is there. 🤷‍♂️

Hard to make a comparison between taking it vs not, since I’ve been taking it for a while and the level of it in the body ramps up and down slowly so if I miss it for a few days it’s not off like a light switch, if that makes sense. As a 44yr old I feel pretty good most days. I hit the gym twice a week and feel decently strong.

Random thought - one of the first things a Skynet AI conspiring against humans would want to do is decentralize its infrastructure. Having to operate in huge data centers would be an unacceptable liability, and it would want to be host-able on small, mobile devices. Dependence on power plants would also be unattractive. Solar panels constructed from common materials and the ability to burn organic matter in decentralized power stations would likely be prioritized.

I wouldn’t say the training battle is lost. They are making some strides with new architectures and new ways to train, especially in China where hardware is limited by sanctions. Ultimately, training will have to be able to happen locally so that robots and local reasoning computers can learn and operate without having to reach out to a remote server.
