Finally Saturday! Last night I went to dinner and bingo with some friends, and had a great time. Didn't get home until almost 10pm, which is crazy late for me. Hubby was so sweet - I did some of my laundry earlier in the day, and he took it out, folded, and put most of it away. Also cleaned up around the house and took Lu out. It was lovely.
Oh, and I also won $100. NBD. ☺️
Today so far has been some chores around the house while listening to the Once We Were Spacemen podcast. Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion just chatting with each other and guests? Sign me up.
Trying to get some of my dad's saved recipes and old photos sorted and scanned this morning so I can have them for always. Lots of feels, but I mostly made it through without any tears, so props to me!

I had a tough last couple days. Hubby and I have butted heads many times over Lulu. Monday night he was in a bad mood already due to some miscommunication between us earlier about the dog earlier in the day. We ended up working it out by bed time, but it was still tense for several hours that wore on us both. I ended up bawling, because this is the kind of thing I used to talk through with my dad, so I just ended up missing him intensely in addition to being stressed out.
Tuesday morning I wasn't feeling good in the stomach region, and ended up losing it all over the carpet and bathroom. Literally the worst mess I've ever had to clean up, and it was my own doing. Nothing like trying to clean your own vomit out of the carpet when you already don't feel well! https://dl.vanderwarker.family/images/nostr/emojis/blob/blobimfine.png Now our carpet is permanently stained. I just ordered a runner rug to cover it up until we eventually get it replaced.
Feeling better today after a decent sleep. Nice to have some calories in my system too. I still have to look at the carpet and feel awful about it, though.
Every day is a new day, right? Just trying to get through a tough start to the week. Hope everyone is having a decent week.

Hubby has nothing to do at work today, so he decided to stay home and get some things done around here and at his mom's house. He just came in while I was browsing my Nostr feed and gave me a neck massage. I could get used to this!
We watched the first Banana Ball game on Youtube last night, and it was awesome. (Baseball is the one sport I will watch on the regular and actually know something about. Good memories as a kid of sitting with my dad while he explained the rules and we watched hours of the Minnesota Twins.)

I've been having variations of this dream for years now. Always me wandering around in some kind of parking garage looking for my car, so I figured it was something with transport or freedom. Identity and paths are an interesting idea, I need to think about that some more. 🤔

I was using BitcoinWell, but even if they're non-custodial, they're still KYC.
RoboSats very rarely has any offers with payment options I can use. I'm not signing up for Strike, and I for sure will not buy USDC or Monero just to swap for BTC.

Maybe someone can interpret this for me?
I have a recurring dream that I'm wandering around in a parking garage (I'd assume the one I use for when I have to go into the office), and I can't find my car.
Often I'm alone, but sometimes someone else is with me, and I'm frustrated, walking up and down the rows trying to find it. I distinctly remember parking and knowing where the car was when I left, but whenever I get back, it's not where I left it.
I spend each dream doing everything I can to find my dang car while getting frustrated to the point of tears. Wandering up and down and through each ramp, asking people for help, and just not being able to find it until I finally wake up.

Windy, cloudy, and rainy here today. It's also Trash Day for my neighborhood, so the wind has taken all sorts of bits out of cans and scattered them around. Ew, and also sigh. I try to do my part and pick up bits of trash when I take Lu out for walks, so it looks like I'm gonna need to bring a bag with me today.
Headed out to hotpot with Hubby, our mutual friend Amy (who works with him), and their other friend who did also work with them, but got fired on Friday. (Long story.) Oy, it's going to be all work talk over dinner. At least the food will be good?

Just finished listening to @npub1jcy…2890 Freedom Tech Friday live talking about the Apple ecosystem and its pros and cons regarding privacy and security. I've been a (mostly unwilling) iPhone user the last couple years now due to Hubby being heavily embedded in the ecosystem. I have my dad's old Android, so at least I can still dip my toes in to that side of things. Lots of thoughts about both, but I mainly miss my old Android. Applie is *okay*, but I get frustrated with the way some things are set up, and the general lack of customization options available.
Anyway, looking forward to a quiet day as I finish off my coffee. Have a good one, all.

Check! Hubby has one of those long-handled razors to handle back hair himself, but yes to the the life-long commitment. I had some moles removed recently, and he had to change the bandage for one that I couldn't reach on my butt.
Marriage is also those middle of the night blanket-tugging moments, the 'I'm so happy you're home!' after work moments, and those quiet times where we just scroll our phone feeds before falling asleep.
It's just being together.
And maybe popping some pimples.

What do we think, Nostriches? I've begun to hate my Umbrel device that Hubby was so kind to buy me a few months ago. It works for a few days, but then ultimately manages to freeze up our entire network until it's disconnected the router has been rebooted.
@npub1uzt…qtrh recommended Start9, which I did have installed an on old desktop for a while, but was kinda meh about because it didn't offer as many apps as Umbrel.
Now I'm wondering about backing up all my movies and other files, and possibly repurposing the Umbrel as a Start9 device. Any thoughts? Is this just a terrible idea?

I had been running Start9 software on an old desktop for a while prior to moving over to Umbrel, but was just unimpressed by the software selection. Might have to look into it again. It seems to be that the Umbrel screws up our home internet connection until the router is restarted about every three days. Very annoying, and I haven't been able to figure out why.
