I have heard this from others as well. I think this model works for bigger families who can help one another or near a friendly community who help one another out. Everyone fantasize homesteading while growing up in a city and used to all the conveniences are very different lives.

Just called the bank because I needed customer service. The person who answered sounded so robotic that I instantly thought it was a bot trying to sound human. It turned out it was a real human who sounded like a robot.
Boy, did I feel bad after apologizing to him for assuming he was a bot. Even till the end, it still felt like I was talking to a robot, even though he spoke very naturally and carried on a great conversation about the topic. Is this madness happening to anyone else out there?
