Big movement forward in general, however, the BIG question is how do you deal with fiat in “banks”? The only downside I see is being a seller and receiving “dirty fiat”. And this happened to various people I know (many times with Revolut) -> flags, delays, explanations, investigations, even freeze.
I got the benefit of zero trust, privacy, on one side. On the other “fiat side” nothing changes and still has same downsides (when receiving fiat -> counterparty risk). To solve the fiat “freezing/investigation” downside there’s honestly just one option (it costs POW - time, effort, physical location, etc..) and that is physical P2P via @nprofile…sy44 . With digital fiat involved it is just a partial solution and it is important to count with “digital fiat” drawbacks.

A couple of thoughts on Venezuela 🇻🇪, in no particular order and for no specific reason.
- Well-prepared and rehearsed multi-agency assault.
- Signal to Russia and China in the form of a “military show of force and intelligence operation.”
- Bukele likely played his part by exchanging roughly 250 Tren de Aragua cartel members for 10 imprisoned US citizens, removing potential US hostage blackmail leverage. This dates back to July 2025 as preparatory steps for successful execution.
- Maduro was offered an exit (and safe haven) but acted cocky, with no contingency plan. He also overestimated the capabilities of Russian and Chinese military defense systems “sold” to Venezuela compared to available US capabilities.
- Maduro underestimated intelligence operators and assets in the country + probable leaks in his closest circles.
- The Cuban regime is in big trouble. Its only real ally was Venezuela, which supplied “free” oil and resources in exchange for medical and military personnel stationed there. Now the Cuban regime will face hard times without regional support, and its other allies are distant and won’t make the difference.
- Maduro’s removal from Venezuela will also affect Russia, as it will lose the ability to sell “laundered” Russian oil through this proxy. Russia still sells oil through other proxies but Venezuela was significant.

I see it more as an attack on Citizenship by Investment (CBI) rather than a "bad luck in country of birth". If an individual qualifies for Citizenship by descent (CBD) or natz, the route remains clear.

1️⃣Norway set the dangerous precedens with not allowing CBI holders (from Caribbean) to enter the country while not violating Schengen rules. Absolutely crazy.
2️⃣ CBIs already have and will have more scrutiny in the future not just from EU but US too (visa bond program).

1⃣ Milei’s government has launched a global tender for one firm to design Argentina’s entire new citizenship by investment program from scratch, including investment routes, amounts, due-diligence rules, and processing times.
2⃣ The program will be capped at 5,000 CBIs in the initial phase with 4 year contract. Firm selection will be based on technical quality and economic appeal. Submission deadline is by end of January for companies that want to sign up for tender.
3⃣ This could be the world’s only CBI fully designed by the private sector and then approved by the government. Let’s watch how it evolves.
4⃣ Expectation to start CBI might be end of 2026/beginning 2027. Program should be crafted by H2/2026.
To win, a firm must prove strong technical, financial, and operational capacity, present all required documents, and meet detailed milestones.

- there is a chance to launch EU Digital identity wallet.
