In January 2009 @halfin was running Bitcoin...We are proud to announce that in 2026 we will be driving Bitcoin (literally) across New Zealand.
We’re launching Oceania’s first Bitcoineta, a mobile grassroots mission to bring Bitcoin education to every corner of the country.
We will drive to remote villages, dense cities, and forgotten roads with a single purpose: to share the tools of self-sovereignty, to explain what money is, and to reveal how Bitcoin restores individual freedom in an age of surveillance and control.
If you feel like contributing to this project, we have created a
@nprofile…n2y8 Fund. Any support will allow us to travel further and help more people become sovereign, as we will be teaching the fundamental importance of self-custody and giving away sats so they can start their Bitcoin Journey.

It is easy to call Bitcoin a Ponzi.
The hard part is explaining how it works.
People claiming it has no value, most likely fail to explain in simple terms:
Halving
Difficulty adjustment
Private key
BIP 39
SHA-256
Proof of Work
Bitcoin is an incredibly sophisticated and balanced system, the kind that only a very bright mind (or group of them) could create.
I have yet to meet someone who understands difficulty adjustment and is not optimistic about #Bitcoin.

What to believe and who to trust when everything we see on a screen can be faked?
You verify.
That’s why we travelled across El Salvador for two weeks, the first country in history to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender.
What we witnessed gave us tremendous hope.
A country that only a few years ago had one of the highest crime rates in the world is now safe for locals and visitors alike.
We spoke with many locals who lived through the change.
Every single one told us the same thing: life is much better now.
Many thanked Bukele for it.
We saw Bitcoin being accepted across the country, from large venues to small market stalls, made possible by the efforts of passionate and dedicated Bitcoiners.
We are so glad we timed our visit with the incredible Plan B Forum because it allowed us to meet innovators we admire, connect with amazing Bitcoiners from around the world and visit circular economies.
Satoshi realigned the incentives for a better future.
El Salvador followed and is already reaping the rewards.
Seeing it with your own eyes changes everything.
The rails of a new financial system are being built right now, one that doesn’t discriminate and gives anyone the ability to save and plan for the future.
You can watch from the sidelines…or you can become part of one of the greatest peaceful revolutions in human history.

“The outcome of World Bank and the IMF policies on the Third World has been remarkably similar to what was experienced under traditional imperialism: wage deflation, a loss of autonomy, and agricultural dependency. The big difference is that, in the new system, the sword and the gun have been replaced by weaponized debt.”
After reading “Hidden Repression: How the IMF and World Bank Sell Exploitation as Development” by @nprofile…v7g4 , you realize that some international organizations, while pretending to be a helping hand, may actually be the boot that prevents developing countries from standing up and thriving.
Many real cases are documented in the book, but one thing in particular stands out and should undeniably raise a red flag (or at least an eyebrow): the billions of dollars loaned by these institutions to authoritarian regimes all over the world.
It is hard enough to hold democratically elected officials accountable, imagine dictators who care only about power and violence.
What do you think they will do when borrowing money they do not have to repay themselves? As always, the ones who pay the price are the most vulnerable.
I started reading this book in El Salvador while visiting blossoming Bitcoin circular economies such as Bitcoin Beach and @nprofile…x40a . Witnessing them firsthand is powerful, they are living proof that Bitcoin realigns incentives and, in doing so, helps prevent this kind of abuse from taking place.
That is one of the many reasons why Bitcoin is hope.

The change is internal, but the seed of that change is planted when we are exposed to these powerful ideas (and our first sats).
Bitcoin adoption at this stage is inevitable, the self-fulfilling prophecy Satoshi talked about…. But how long will mass adoption take?
We need to normalise Bitcoin and make it as easy to understand as possible, so the average person realises they are spending most of their time in a system that works against them, designed to drain their time and energy.

One word got stuck in my head after listening to this outstanding episode: Unstoppable.
@nprofile…duvf referred to the @nprofile…32hm program designed to teach activists how to use Bitcoin in their fight against authoritarian regimes.
But the truth is, anyone who self-custodies #Bitcoin, no matter the amount, becomes unstoppable.
You become unstoppable because you realize that no government or third party will ever be able to debase or confiscate your money.
Anyone who manages to create value will be able to store it safely.

Short appreciation post for two projects that, combined, have become in my experience one of the most effective orange pilling tools: @nprofile…38v5 + @nprofile…8qzu .

At Bitcoin Journey we want to make Bitcoin education simple, easy and accessible to everyone… because lets be honest, not everyone is going to read The Bitcoin Standard or Broken Money by Lyn (they absolutely should…but they wont)
Thats why we want to host FREE in-person and online workshops where in only 2 hours people will learn what Bitcoin is really about.
As of July 2025 we have hosted 18 workshops, with over 82 attendees and 19 of them have become sovereign individuals through Self Custody.
