I came across channels where a human is reading AI slop. On the othee hand, there are channels where robot voice reads human writing. This heuristic of "face = man made" does not hold, but it makes sense that they want to crack down on garbage content. It will be interesting to see where they take it from here.

I do not know how viable would they be as a productive apple tree. I read that it is common to graft apple trees onto a rootstock of a different apple type, which would then dictate the size and life span of the tree. And normally they propagate apple trees from cutlings, in which case the new tree would be genetically identical to the original one. But when growing them from seeds, it may come out different than expected, they say.
I would like to see them fruit at least once, just to see what comes out of it. The mother fruit is Crimson Snow apple variety, which I like.

I have seen one place charging about 8 euro per machine hour. Perhaps more, if the customer is German 😄. So I agree with the 1000 euro, as the comment above suggests. Maybe more, if you value your time a lot. On the other had, large amounts of simple prints deserve a discount.
Thinking about it more, I wonder if you can tune the parameters to speed up the print. 1 hour seems quite a long time for what you are describing.

I very much agree. Really, if changing human nature is the goal, you would have to do eugenics/disgenics over many centuries, and even then, nature would probably blew right past your attempt.
This is imo a more accurate model:
1) human nature is largely constant
2) humans are extreemely adaptable to large variety of environments
3) humans have a desire for control the material world, thus technology is made
4) technology changes the game, thus leading to a change in social structure, for better or worse
5) human nature changes veeeery slowly - think on the scale 10000 years or more. New human races are made in those timeframes. Maybe faster, if the evolutionary pressure is strong.
6) the changes we see in human behavior are cultural and developmental. The animal is the same.

An elderly person near me died today. We were not super close, but saw each other almost daily. It is interesting how people who knew her reflect on her life now. A nice ritual to meet and and talk about her. People talk very openly, and with sadnes say even things about her which they othervise would not say, because it would be considered gossip. But now, it cannot be gossip, because there is honestly and sadness and it kinda does not matter, because the person is dead.

I keep with me an expired ID card, which I show to accomodation providers. It is real, so I am still identified, but at least no one can use it to take loans in my name if it leaks. I have never been denied because of it.
When possible, I look up phone numbers to a little private accomodation providers on google maps. I then book myself over the phone the old school way, bypassing the nosy middle man. Then I pay cash. Most of them appreciate it and sometimes do not even bother asking for a stupid ID. I get pleasure from knowing that they do not have to pay taxes from my money, if they chose not to.

My issue is that he tends to use these figures only as an idea starter, and then selectively picks what suits him, only to spin it into his own direction. Which would be fine, if he did not grosely misrepresent their work. Nietzsche has got a fundamental critique of jewish and christian morality, which is omited by Peterson, even though it is the core.

I have a thought on Jordan Peterson. What if his mental deterioration is due to bad conscience? He lied about Nietzsche, christianity, and he took side of the jews. And he tried to put together secular harwardism with the bible, which in principle cannot be done. So, it ripped him to pieces on the inside.

I am thinking: since a gov office usually want papers issued by another office as a proof of something, what if get that proof, but then also legaly rename yourself at the same time. And if the timing on it is correct, what if you would end up with 2 legal identities, because it slipped through? Or zero identities? You could perhaps get yourself into a legal limbo where you are dead and alive at the same time.

Actually optane's main advantage is low latency. Speeds are not that special. This would be most useful for high frequency random reads. Like from a database. Puting the chainstate database on it should be good.

There is this tech called intel optane. It is a fast memory storage ment to be used in RAID with an HDD. In that setup, it serves for caching, making slow HDD feel fast. It is about 10 years old; since abandoned because NVMe SSDs caught up.
I have this in my old-ish gaming computer which I plan to repurpose. I am thinking of experimenting local LLMs on the nvidia graphics card, or other stuff. The point is to learn.
I could also use the machine for other home lab/server things. I am thinking about putting btc node on it, monero etc. This is where optane comes to play. Because full nodes read and write to the disk all the time, I maybe able to releave some of it with a proper optane setup. Obviously not with HDD, but with my 1TB SATA SSD instead. Node may be able to sync faster with it, or at least save some read/write cycles.
Would anyone be interested in reading about results of this kind of experiment? I do not know, maybe this idea is not worth much.

I think my definition of democracy is more narrow than yours. I my view, large sections of the State work outside of "democracy" and outside of single nation republic. And the idea of a democratic republic is only a layer on top of it. A religious layer that provides justification and rituals, but the power lies elsewhere.
