I can actually get the first, maybe that example is a bit flawed.
As for "Musk is too good at sucking money from the govt" that is true, and same for companies like Walmart in the US. But it IS still a capitalist system just with a lof of "welfare for the rich" added.

That also describes authoritarian capitalist countries exactly perfectly. Authoritarianism and socialism are NOT interconnected. Authoritarian capitalist countries exist (think Singapore, modern PRC, Franco) and democratic socialism is possible (in fact, socialism was intended to be democratic).

With any research disproving socialism it's not like all you have to do is look at who sponsored them and what exactly the results are. They also MUST be taken into a given context. They may only disprove one form of socialism or only apply in a specific time frame.
Also remember the US & NATO actively sanctioned socialism in the Cold War.

Well, all a CEO has to do is marketing & management. That is what Elon is kind-of to quite good at, and yet he takes tasks on hand he's not good at as well. For instance, design. Just look at the Cybertruck for an example of this. But that is why you hire good designers for a fair wage. A good CEO actually recognises that the reason you hire ppl is because you are not perfect or even good at everything, so you have to get help from others who are good at the tasks at hand.
Same for ideation. A tunnel to fix traffic, using ROCKETS as airliners are just 2 of his terrible ideas.
And as for taking humanity into space, look at the US government initiative Artemis for proof of the contrary of what you said.
I totally agree with the final statement here. But this is the same in systems based around equal oppprtunities.
As for your original point of rewarding ppl good at rote memorisation vs the actual task at hand, this is not an economic but an education system level issue. Many authoritarian socialist countries had coercive education systems in place, as do many ultra-capitalist democracies. And those are the thing that rewards for rote memorisation rather than actual experience.

Wrong way round if this is at all true! "Equality" means equal outcomes, "equity" means equal oppprtunities. If we expect equal outcomes (authoritarian socialism) everyone in a given group will be the same. If we expect equal opportunities (democratic socialism) then everyone will take the opportunities that best fit them, leading to a more diverse yet prosporous society.

When it comes to socialism being discredited, only *authoritarian* socialism has been discredited in Eastern Europe, North Korea and the PRC.
