Went away with wife this weekend. Went to a place and for the first time in my life, I was offered a senior citizen discount. Then discovered that I actually qualified for it. I was nearly undone. We got home this morning. A little bit ago:
Wife: why is basement light on.
Me: oh yeah, that was to remind me of something.
Wife: of what?
Me: I can't remember.
Wife: that's a really good system.
Its over, now I just wait for the fat lady to start singing.

@nprofile…zjjq I use backing soda and white vineger all the time for uncloging pipes. It works quite well. but sometimes a little plunging is also necessary (giant hair globs are hard to get out of sink drains without some plunging). and overflows have to be covered/closed for the plunging to be effective.
Additionally, white vineger makes an excellent glass cleaner and scale remover and it's cheap.

@nprofile…eyh6 Well, they are different, but very linked. Often a financial crises is caused by an (somewhat isolated) econmic problem. It's also caused by over exuberance/investment in concentrated areas and usually ill advised government action/policy is in the mix. And a financial crisis, usually has eonomic consequences (sometime narrow and sometimes broad based).
As an example, the 2008 financial crisis almost killed our business.

Huge financial crises are a dime a dozen. The hugest is the one that occurs in one's lifetime.
If AI puts everybody out of a job, then customers won't exist. If customers don't exist, companies can't make any money. If there are no people working and no companies making money, Government has no revenue.
Farmers can still grow food, but wouldn't be able to sell it.
So, eventually govt will see the threat to itself and put on some brakes, or an alternative ecomomy will arise.

I did a bunch of yard work this weekend. One of the things I did was to trim some low hanging branches where the lawn meets a wooded area. I grew tired of dodging them. Later when I took a shower, I had 3 ticks embedded. I was wearing jeans and socks, so how exactly did I get a tick embedded in my ass? Anybody know how effective spraying those woods would be? They are pretty heavily infested with tics.

I've been thinking about going to visit my younger brother. He is wrong in the head and lives in a group home far away. Visiting him is taxing so I'd been thinking that I'd take my older brother's 37 year old son. He had expressed a desire to go, and being a cop, has had plenty of experience with crazy people. So last night I texted him and asked him. He didnt answer. This morning his dad called me to tell me he was killed in a car accident last night. Death sucks and can be so sudden.

It's 95 degrees F in the UK. It seems that this is nearly as bad as german rockets pounding london.
They are warning people not to go in the water to cool off as it's dangerous (11 people have suffered "water related" deaths. perhaps they are drowing themselves to escape such heat (which is pretty commonplace here and in much of the world) and drowning in water beats drowning in sweat.

Wife sometimes lets the sheep out to graze in the dog area when the dogs are inside. She's careful to keep them apart for some reason. She was upstairs and I didnt realize the sheep were in the dog yard and let the dogs out. It was uneventful. They all just chilled together. When I brought the dogs in, the sheep came to the door with them. They would have followed the dogs inside. They loudly expressed their displeasure when I shut them out, then after a minute, when into the barn.

My son just called me and asked me for 2 hundred watt and 3 60 watt incandescent light bulbs. This pic is about half my remaining supply. I suppose I could part with them, but I have to extract something in return. So I told him if he comes and replaces the PCB to the pedal assembly for my digital piano (I have the replacement board) he could have the bulbs. Of course, he would have done it anyway and I would have given him the bulbs but this is more fun.

I went on a walk around the building. We occupy about half and 8 other companies occupy the rest.
A very attractive woman followed me right into my office and started asking me questions. I'm thinking to myself, that even at 60 I'm still a babe magnet.

Goats need copper and zinc. Normally they can get that from a salt lick. But we have one goat that won't touch anything with zinc in it. Then he gets a deficiency and his hair falls out. Early last week wife tried zinc cough drops. Now that's his new favorite thing and his hair is already starting to grow back. Hopefully it want cause some other problem. We checked the ingredients and doesnt seem it will.

There is humor in everything. My son is Autistic. When he was little his prognosis was really crappy. Its become quite obvious that the countries in Europe aren't really allies but are actually dependents. This being the case, once Iran is finished, then Cuba is taken care of, I think the US should take over the EU and turn them into vassel states.
