Not sure in practice but on paper at scale the laser beam defense systems from Elbit or others could help in defense against the asymmetric warfare. Upfront costs $80-300m but each shot is <$5. That being said these devices can’t be everywhere at all times but could be placed at important defense and civilian infrastructure. In the interim Ukraine drone interceptors are similar cost to the Iranian Shahed drones.
The likely outcome is continue to prop up the existing MIC while additionally funding next gen defense manufacturers. Just have to point to the Trump-class Golden Fleet announcement.
Bigger budgets = more taxes.
The cat is out of the bag that the equation has inverted with the navy, at least as of right now, has not been able to control the Strait.

They are a square seller.
The staff is flying around early in the morning fulfilling people’s orders. Not a lot of time to orange pill.
I mentioned the savings vs debit/credit rails being a square user. They nodded and quickly ran back to fill an order.

I’ve tried to get my local breakfast spot to turn on lightning payments. I’ve mentioned it now three times. Each time they acknowledge my request and are nice about it and say they’ll look into it. There is always a line. They are extremely busy. And by the end of a long day I doubt they remember. I don’t want to be the guy that keeps annoying them. And usually the person taking orders doesn’t have a financial incentive or economic interest in the flow of payments.

Has anyone made a bitcoin companion app/wallet/website for kids? @nprofile…hc6t, and a number of Bitcoin kids books are helpful onboarding them to the concept but then the tools get very technical. @nprofile…h7k7 Blockclock + OpenDime seem like a good way to watch NGU with their stack especially away from a screen. @nprofile…h80k is visually pleasing.
Wondering if anyone has used any existing app or device in a way that has engaged their children in the #Bitcoin?

There is a lot of talk out there about Bessent’s recent comments about growing GDP faster than the debt. A lot of people are saying that means “the printer is coming” and inflation is going to rise. I do not disagree with that. But it is worth thinking about other “creative” ways that the admin can make GDP grow faster.
All we have to do is look to Lutnick. He gave us a hint when he was in the “All in Podcast” a few months ago and in Fox News where he talks about changing the calc for GDP removing “non-productive spending.” Which in theory would lower GDP BUT he talks about changing “expenses” or something.
Just saying that like admins in the past they will likely get creative before they do “the hard thing.”

I would add the MOVE index to your dashboard of things to watch re: US rates. This has been a pretty orderly move up in rates relative to what we saw in April.
Doesn’t mean it can’t get dicey just hasn’t been that big spike up that spooks the govt.

Deregulation is the most important part of the next phase for Elon. Autonomous cars, humanoid workers, social media, ai (access to data), more starlink contracts, more influence on NASA (the Space X pilot is running it.)
Yes he is “sacrificing” in the very short term but tesla was starting to wane/falter. He sold to all the early adopters and virtue signalers in US/EU. But the right didn’t buy his cars en masse, so what did he do? A truck. But not just a truck. One for a certain type of person to appeal to the antithesis of what the early Tesla owners bought into. Then there was China… and now Chinese OEMs have caught up and surpassing Tesla. He needed to pivot to gain influence to advance his causes.
