I am more interested in a LAN with the emphasis on local meaning cabled "area network" over Reticulum.
As much as I love to tinker and experiment with LoRa I am hesitating as this inevitably further increases EMF. I am willing to build this as a last resort against full government shut down of the internet infrastructure.
We are suposed to find solutions not create new problems. EMF is like vaccines. As a healthy person you may survive exposure to it, but it's long-term effects will result in damaged DNA leading to all kind if complications.
So using it in a smart way where you can't convince your neighbours to build a a small cabled grid or where you need to bridge two cities yes.
The thing is most people don't even give a duck. Their devices including the fridge fry them alive. They don't care yo reduce exposure during the night when the body is supposed to recover.

The problem here is that some of us do not trust Google hardware either (besides funding their empire).
So wouldn't something like Graphene Lite that runs on every standard Android device be a much better option than Lineage or /e/OS for most people even if it would not live up to the full standard on a Pixel? It would need to come with a warning that it can't protect against certain attacks, but at least those devices would be properly patched.
Personally I would be interested in a LoRa/WiFi device only as I rarely need mobile and if I do, I can always run a hotspot from a secondary device or a mobile router like the Mudi.

The last time a fork could endanger the Rothschild claim on Bitcoin was in 2017.
The next fork only happens if there are internal tensions, not something the public can bring onto them.
By the way they funded both sides in the block size wars and damaged those reasonable voices that held the middle ground.
(Ultra) small blockers and (ultra) big blockers both were the attack. And people reacted in psychologically predictable ways getting rid of reasoning first.
What few don't understand is that voices that favoured reasonable growth were themselves undermined by BSV (ultra big blockers).
Growing Bitcoin according to Gavin, Jeff's, or Adams plans would all have worked out well without centralising the chain too much for node runners.
But reasonable voices were not up for debate. They needed maximum polarisation and they got it. It's a psychological exploit that works too well for rulers to ignore it. Until more people learn about this we will repeat it.

I've observed the VC/startup scene closely for the last 20 years.
And I can tell you that most fresh spirit got drained out and worn down like an old whore.

I don't have a beef in the fight between Core and BIP110. But people called me a shitcoiner for my support of Monero for more than ten years.
Let me give you an explanation of what I do think a shitcoiner is.
A "shitcoiner" is a scapegoat that makes otherwise smart people talk from an intellectual dishonest place. It's a short cut ending conversations that could contribute to bilateral knowledge gains at the cost of questioning ones own authority.
I personally flag people not willing to argument in good faith more than any shitcoiner. I have hope in people that are discovering themselves through mistakes and mishappens in life. They self-correct. It just needs time. I have far less hope in people that are calculating their every moves.
BTW. This is also the most easy way to spot intel assets. They only learned to maintain a facade.
This does not mean there are not many bots/sockpuppets here that should be ignored.
It also doesn't mean that 50% of the people we encounter (here aswell?) everyday have an IQ less than 100.
It means we should argue in good faith in public for the silent observers that are willing to learn from a multifaceted debate.

Competition creates advances. As ideas are not stuck with committees. It also makes us harder to attack.
Learn from Monero's strength and mistakes (for my taste too many devs are still known by name). Make it a fair launch. Don't build for clearnet networks. Directly use something like Reticulum as P2P protocol.

Always was. Bitcoin created a CPU mineable coin, but because SHA256 was not GPU/FPGA/ASIC resistant economies of scake/economies of monopolization happened.
This will happen in the future for Monero too if we can't get projects like RISC-V into wider use like open source/open weight models.
