I had a request for a zodiac calendar, so I made one. A little late in the year, but I'll update it in October for 2027. I painted the backgrounds in watercolour, scanned them, then I drew the constellations digitally.

I'd recommend checking out earplugs that don't completely block out noise like sleeping ones. I have a pair from a Belgian brand called Loop, but I'm sure there's some US brands. I use them when I have to go to the shop or even at home if I can hear the neighbours talking outside, or when I'm overwhelmed and I find my partner too loud (for example when he's loading the dishwasher). I'm sure those would be allowed as you can have normal conversation while wearing them.

Here's my stand from last weekend! It was quite successful, but the two full days of sitting+standing still made my back hurt so bad I haven't been able to work (I'm a masseuse), so I've lost way more earnings this way than I got with the stand. Life is funny that way.

Final steps are polishing off any rough soldering remains that could snag on the skin or clothing and attaching the chain. Sometimes I add a black patina. And that's it! It's quite a lengthy process. I'm currently working on a new display setup, using nice books.

Step no.4!
Making shapes out of a thicker wire and soldering them on to make the stones into pendants. This is the most creative part of the process, though it is not my favourite part, as that is hunting for nice minerals to turn into jewelry. 🤭 I have waaay to many stones at home...
In this step you have to be really careful not to overheat everything with the soldering gun, that's why I make several pendants at once and switch in between. If the solder overheats, the shapes just fall off as everything gets liquid!

Here's step no. 3: reinforcing the edges of the soldered part with wire. This ensures more sturdiness and a more polished finish. It's slow work.

Hot damn, 65, that's high! You can't even buy such numbers in the stores here in the EU because high dosages can be dangerous (overdosing is possible), they have to be prescribed by a doctor. Mine are 30mg and that's on the high end of what's available.

I take my iron pill every second day in the morning. I don't eat first thing in the morning because it makes me nauseous, so I don't have to watch for that. I notice the fatigue setting in if I forget to take it for about two weeks (I'm very physically active and have 7 day periods). Funny thing is, my iron levels improved when I went vegetarian because I became much more conscious of my food choices, before I basically lived off spaghetti and tuna, which was not great. 😆

I'm prepping for a stall at a mineral expo in September. I make pendants with Tiffany technique (soldering onto minerals), but people find these expensive (they take a long time to make) and I never sell enough to make it worthwhile. So I'm also making quick simple earrings, rings and pendants, which in my experience sell way better (Even though they have zero artistic input 🙃. They are fun to make though) and I can cover my stall this way.

Thank you ❤️ I was thinking 12€ for one, with discounts for multiple. I'm pricing my jewellery (I have to post that) much higher, but I don't make a lot of sales. Slovenians are very cheap when it comes to art unless it's usable like ceramics. I'd like to try some Italian markets, apparently they're much more appreciative of the work that goes into it!

I find the paper makes so much more difference than the paints! I use cheap as hell paints. I like to use different papers, they all have their pros and cons and my way of painting changes accordingly. But yeah, for super smooth watercolour blending, mixed media sucks. I use it much more than fancy watercolour paper though, those are expensive. 😭

All the mountains are in my tiny country of Slovenia, so nothing famous 🤭 But that gives them the advantage of not being crowded, last year I visited the Polish Tatras and there were so many people, it felt quite weird to me.

What an awesome goal! I love that the motivation behind it something specific and fun, it's easier to stick with it on the hard days that way.
I've been to Disneyland in Paris once, I imagine it's even more spectacular in Florida.
My fitness goals by the end of this year are one proper chin-up and five proper push-ups, they are very elusive for me! I should make up a fun reward for reaching them. I'd also like to do five new peaks from the hiking wish list!

I enjoy listening to a book while cleaning. Right now I'm doing Stephen King's Fairy Tale. That way I'm looking forward to it! Or fun music, but that always turns into a dance party and I get nothing done. 😬

I made home liqueur for the first time and it's a great success! 😄 Made it from spruce tips and blueberry liquor, I also added fennel seeds for some extra flavour as I like to experiment with recipes. It's absolutely delicious, if I may say so myself. 😅 A nice balance of sweetness, burn and levels of flavour. So I've decided to go for another round, this time with lemon balm from the garden. It will be ready in two weeks.

Just regular wall plaster! There are specialised hobby mixtures, but in my opinion plaster does the job well enough for much cheaper. I'll post when I finish them 😊

I didn't feel today's prompt at all, I find hyacinth flowers weirdly fake looking 🙈 So I did a bit of Wikipedia exploring and came upon the jacinth gemstone. It was a nice drawing practice, I have to draw more crystals, they're so frustrating and pleasurable to paint at the same time.

Since I'm drawing flowers this month, I thought it would be nice to post my real plants too. I couldn't have many because one of my cats would eat them all (poisonous too). But now that he's 15 years old, he doesn't jump on the high spaces anymore and I can keep them there. I admit I went a bit crazy and filled up every available space due to the lack during his jumping years. 💁 But there's always some nook left to squeeze one more in. 🤭
