Is there some specific aspect of slack that has contributed more to your hatred?
I think for me the worst aspect of Slack, and pretty much every chat application like it, is that it's so invasive on my attention. They are all guilty of this, so I can't say it's just Slack.

Yes.
However, 15 / month is a little on the edge of what I would pay for an app. It depends on what it can do / what I am using it for, How much I will be using it, etc.

Like "give me all events that mention me in the last ten minutes"
You can do this, You just add a `since` property to the filter.

I have thought that a possible end state of nostr is that there will be some small relays and some large ones. In theory you would have participants who never, in their lifetime, are aware of other groups. Except for a few black sheep who are curious about other groups maybe.
This is part of the beauty of NOSTR, is that it mimics the natural organization of peoples and cultures. It empowers groups to be what they are, with their own norms and taboos.

It says that if there are too many relays it would make NOSTRs usability bad, because clients would have to establish too many SSL connections (the 's' in https).
Is it possible to set up some sort of relay, that is in fact a load balancer of some kind that will serve as an SSL termination point?
Then you could in theory have a way to reduce the amount of SSL certificates?
I don't think I fully understand how termination works yet. It might only work for multiple instances of a single relay. Plus a bunch of other complications I am not aware of.
Plus it would be a point of failure if relays forwent having their own SSL certs.

You could also say "Just move somewhere you do" but that isn't really realistic, if there is no other place to go. OR I lose the choice after I move.

What options would people have to run software on the internet? Obviously you can say "run your own infrastructure" but some ISPs block a lot of ports. I know mine does, and I don't really have alternative options for ISP in my area.

Maybe you can see your past threads, and if you do you can see replies to it, in that case. It is configurable so it can have 210 characters limit per note, for example.

A client just for authoring threads. It has no feed to speak of. You just have a nice, simple, interface for writing your notes before you yeet them into the NOSTR void.
