Is this a common issue? I was under the impression that, even among bitcoin maxis, it wasn’t. Degenerate gamblers notwithstanding.
If you’re buying so much that you have no immediate liquidity to pay for basic needs or the ability to cover a sudden emergency, then, yes, you’re overextending yourself into Bitcoin and exposing yourself to have to sell at inopportune times. This feels obvious so it’s odd to see it addressed. Perhaps I’m wrong and there are swathes of people just slamming every last cent into BTC, though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Had a lovely conversation with my Lyft driver on the way here. He told me a story about a ride he picked up in a bad neighborhood at 2:30am. It’s was a woman who was leaving her boyfriend’s house after they’d had a huge fight. He scheduled the Lyft, waited a few minutes after they’d departed, and cancelled the fare - k owing their policy was to drop the rider.
The woman was near tears and terrified of being abandoned in an unknown and dangerous part of town with no way of getting home. The driver decided to take her home anyway, out of kindness.

How is it legal to “sell” something you don’t have? Bank to bank I get it - they understand the risk and can make that decision if they want - but to pass that risk onto an unwitting 3rd party who is expecting to receive gold and is now in a position where they believe they own it but instead have nothing but an unbacked and unfulfillable IOU seems unscrupulous if not outright illegal.
What happens when those IOU holders come to claim their gold and there’s none to give them?

I love stumbling across a an older band and immediately digging their stuff. It imparts a special “how did I not know about them?” rush that’s equal parts ecstasy over knowing there’s likely a whole catalog of their stuff to dive into and agony over having gone so long without enjoying their music.

The “cool” factor and the fact that Concorde has been out of operation for the entirety of the past generation’s lives so it’s “new” to them.
It’s a neat concept, but it needs to be made affordable to get past being a novelty only usable by the wealthy. That may be their approach, though because the convenience of being able to travel that far that quickly is valuable to some.
