BEWARE. If you purchase from Appliances Online in Australia they can be pricks when it comes to warranty claims. My recent experience:
Vaccum cleaner stopped. Filled out their online form. *crickets*.
Called after a week and no record of my report, so they took it over the phone and said I would be contacted in a couple of days. *crickets*.
One week later angry Kim calls AOL: "I need you to replace or refund this now"
AOL: We don't do that, it's a manufacturers warranty. We will have the manufacturer contact you.
Angry Kim: Thats not how the law works in this country, let me talk to someone who can fix this.
AOL: There is no one here who can fix this. You have to go through the manufacturer.

What staggers me most about the PM's cruel and flippant attitude to the Australian women and children stuck in Syrian camps, is the level of misogyny and complete lack of self reflection.
'They made their bed' is a disgraceful trope trotted out about single mums to blame the women for any range of misdemeanours. His own mother would have been subject to the same comments and judgements without any regard to her circumstances.
His callous attitude is near sociopathic and frankly I've never thought so lowly of him as a person.

IMO this reads like they are cherry picking issues to try and convince UK readers that universal health care doesn't work.
Despite conservative and austerity driven governments trying to slowly strangle Medicare when they think no one will notice, the idea that there is a "growing number" of people calling for an end to Medicare is pure BS. Maybe they mean a growing number of billionaires are? Any open threat to Medicare is still political suicide in Australia.
Healthcare in remote and regional areas can be very poor and needs a lot of help. Part of the problem is that it affects a tiny percentage of the population, ie not a lot of voters.
Public specialists can also be hard to get access to as it says, and the wait lists can be long unless you're hospitalised.
Medicare has never covered dental and has very little mental health cover. It should do both, but including it skews the comparison to the NHS. These things are handled through the State hospital systems but still not well.
Primary care is evolving. There is increasing use of telehealth and nurse-practitioners and they often bulk-bill (eg: no cost to the patient). Most working age adults who are not on welfare would be paying around £20-30 to see a GP Doctor.
In general, the majority of medical issues are free or readily affordable for most Australians. However, a lot more can be done to help chronically ill low income earners and those in remote regional areas. Note, it's a big place and experience will vary state to state

Phase one sees US nuclear powered and nuclear armed subs based in Australia. Partially crewed and supported by Australia but under US command.
The US nuclear armed subs get a strategic base on the Indian Ocean rim, which we pay to build and run, and we also pay the US on top of that to do it. It was meant to be a stop-gap until we got our own boats, but a deal this bad for Australia incentivises Trump to not supply them. And we even gave them a clause that lets them do that.

Absolutely. Ukraine was winning a war of manoeuvre up until the delayed counter-offensive in Feb 2023 when western allies discovered the breaching equipment and tactics they were giving Ukraine were not a match for the Russian defensive positions. The war then transitioned to one of attrition with Ukraines hands still tied by restrictions on the use of many allied supplied weapons.
No one thought Ukraine could win a war of attrition, but with the lifting of weapon restrictions and the ongoing (but imperfect) economic sanctions, Ukraine was considered by many to be winning that too. That is, up until Trump changed sides.
