Since my last toot in this thread, I had not noticed lack of notification for new toots & "Notifications". Or, might have re-loaded out of habit.

@npub1eg2…wkvv After the Mastodon software update, toots of the accounts that I subscribe ("follow") to are not causing "new toot" notice on the "Home" feed consistently in web UI (not using "advanced web interface").
In the most recent case, 3 toots were from one local account & 1 from "tech.lgbt" account; they appeared only after me re-loading "Home" feed tab.
"Notifications" too are affected the same.
(Earlier, as noted in the immediate parent toot, I noticed that with my own toots & 2 re-toots.)

... Hunh. Irritatingly enough, a reply or re-toot done in a separate tab (from the one with "/home" URL open) does not cause new-toot-notice to show up reliably in #mastodon the software v4.6.0 (in that already open "Home" feed tab).
Had to re-load the ("Home" feed) tab.

Interesting. In #Mastodon the software v4.6.0 tag syntax after the pipe is not recognized as a #hashtag anymore.
Given "# A | # B" (sans spaces), "B" does not become a tag no more.
Ha! "(# C)" is also not counted. Fuck.

There are "lite" & "tiny" flavors of the port (pkg search --regex '^git' | grep -E 'lite|tiny'). FWTW. What each would actually bring along, I do not know off hand.
Could parse "ports/devel/git/Makefile" https://cgit.freebsd.org/ports/tree/devel/git to find out; #FreshPorts https://www.freshports.org/devel/git may have something.

One method to recover ...
- boot in "single user" mode via the FreeBSD menu;
- edit "/etc/rc.conf" to comment out the relevant "kld_list" (or, whatever else responsible to load the GPU driver);
- exit, to "normal" mode;
- build the driver port, or install the package, for the relevant version;
- load the driver module;
- start GUI.
