The one thing I appreciate about the bip-110 side is they set an expiration date.
That seems like a very reasonable concession that the other side fails to acknowledge.
I’m not really a fan of either side here and would personally rather the prior status quo but I’m just a boring node runner moving my sats to and from cold storage. So as long as I can do that I’m solid.

Knowing people on both sides doesn’t identify the incentives, it’s about knowing who’s incentivized. Thats much harder to identify.
Suffice it to say, bip-110 seems to me like an inflammatory reaction to recent core changes.
So the incentives to be found are within the motivations of those changes, which to me read as I mentioned above, to help venture capitalists monetize their investments.

Miners have consistently made MORE fiat dollars over time even as the subsidy has decreased in bitcoin amount.
Real cost to secure a block fluctuates by difficulty adjustment, so it adjusts to the market.

It’s because people have been disincentivized from valuing hard work. And therefore they don’t have any pride in the work they do. In fact, people are the opposite, and proud of how little work they do.
Two generations now have been taught to avoid laborious tasks and increase their knowledge to be become more valuable than their labor. This has resulted in a surplus of knowledge and lack of labor, such that knowledge is less valuable than labor, which is the exact opposite of what their parents told them to expect.
Part of it was just everyone chasing the same carrot, but part of it was also a generation self centered and too lazy to pass their skills on and relying on someone else to do it for them.
The value of hard work is more then just a dollar; it’s self worth, independence, skills, individuality, and pride.
