As part of or work on #Cellbroadcast we've documented our current test setup: https://codeberg.org/Phosh/gsm-cell-testing using #osmocom for the mobile network parts and #ansible for deploying #ModemManager on the devices, performing the tests and checking the results.

As there's often the question how to move the cursor when using phosh-osk-stub as OSK: Here's a short demo. If you *really* want additional cursor *keys* one can add them as keys to the terminal layout's shortcut bar via
gsettings set sm.puri.phosh.osk.Terminal shortcuts "[<yourothershortcuts>, 'Up', 'Down', 'Left', 'Right']"
too.

Captive Wi-Fi portals are now detected via @npub1aqh…a0nl . A notification is displayed that opens the default browser and (hopefully) takes you to the portal login page:

#phosh now shows the configured desktop background in the overview:
Note that some of the background files shipped for desktops as jxl can be slow to resize on slower hardware as they are meant for desktop screen size.
It is recommended to use a proper size on e.g. the PinePhone as it can otherwise consume significant CPU resources after login.

This adds support for a new haptic API to feedbackd that can be used by e.g. games to trigger vibration patterns or by browsers to implement `navigator.vibrate()`.

The discoverable button for taking apps out of fullscreen has now landed (including a fix for #phoc to not crash when doing so 😃 ). This should help apps that don't expose an easy to discover way to unfullscreen them (without resorting to workarounds like using the OSK or spawning another app).

phosh-osk-stub (and #phoc) got several fixes related to text completion / prediction so we enable it by default if the app requests it (e.g. chatty and GNOME TextEditor do). This will hopfully let more apps do that.
The OSK also got a paste button.

Phosh's upcoming events plugin can now show an arbitrary number of days, the torch slider gets hidden when there's only one brightness level (as e.g. on the PinePhone). Unlocking can no longer accidentally swipe to the lockscreen plugins, notifications look a bit nicer and more.

Mobile settings now remembers the last opened panel and allows to configure the OSK layout (if using phosh-osk-stub). This ensures you can only select layouts that are actually present.
