Today, Carney has no private backer, unanimous oppostion from First Nations, no carbon capture facility (which doesn't work anyway), and now he's backed down on the price of pollution, giving Alberta an extra ten years to pollute at artificially low costs.

So far, Carney has no private backer for the pipeline, had the Pathways Alliance (now calling themselves the Oilsands Alliance) back out of carbon capture (which doesn't work anyway), faced nothing but determined resistance from Coastal First Nations in BC over the tanker moratorium, and now he's caving entirely on Alberta's industrial carbon emissions.
None of the conditions in his MOU have been met, and Mark Carney just keeps on retreating and backing down.

On the ground, support units from various parts of Japan were working frantically to put out the sparks of glowing embers. But the slightest breeze would start them smoldering again, and burned acreage just kept growing.
Back in 2011, Otsuchi was hit by the tsunami of the Great East Japan Earthquake as well as the fire that ensued.

Smoke from wildfires is a form of air pollution, carrying toxic gases like sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide, as well as fine particulate matter. Other sources of air pollution, from car and truck exhaust to power plants and oil and gas facilities, are also hazardous to our health.
Air pollution can cause heart disease, strokes, chronic lung diseases and cancer. In Canada, federal research has found it contributes to about 17,400 premature deaths each year. In B.C., a nine-year-old died in 2023 after an asthma attack was made worse by wildfire smoke.
And that’s just one health impact of pollution and extreme weather.

Very close! :) Shin-hanga came along just after ukiyo-e fell out of fashion. Shin-Hanga prints shared a lot of the same production methods and subject matter, but incorporated more influences from abroad.
