Tariffs ARE a Tax. I don't know who has claimed otherwise.
However, unlike the textbook story about tariffs, the majority of the cost is not borne by the consumer. In fact, the prices to the consumer are typically reduced!
Cost will rise. POTUS 45 oversaw prices from China rise 0.3% on 25% tariffs.
Inflation is NOT associated with tariffs. That is the Legilature borrowing counterfeit FED money.

You have to get to the root of the problem.
Insurance gets 15% on expenses due to ObummerCare. Therefore they jack up the rates. That is the cost of ObummerCare - you would do the same.
CMS requires mountains of paperwork to pay 25% of the bill. Since people are never 'cured' they then pay less than 25%. Medicaid/ Medicare is broken.
In 1986 purchsing coops were allowed to pay kickbacks. This drives up the costs.

I recall a welder preparing to work on an Oil Storage Tank in Russia. He suggested we stand back. Sure enough about 15 minutes later the top blew off like a frisbee.

Hmmm, I have an idea, I realize it sounds crazy but hear me out.
What if we hade a Federal government that was only responsible for national defense and inter-state commerce. There would be no real power to do much of anything. There would be no reason for high taxes. There would be no opportunity for corruption.
All power would be local and local communities could do as they pleased with their own resources.

I used to purchase low fat-content beef cuts like Eye Round or Sirloin Tip for my dogs. The price was in the mid $3 range.

Tom Woods did an episode with a guest who discovered this when his kid drowned. They finally understood he was never going to have his organs donated so they began to help.
