GNOME 50 has been released! 🥳
Here’s a quick summary of the improvements which gnome-software 50 contains:
- Reduce CPU priority when running in the background
- Remember window size between restarts
- Improved error reporting in the repositories dialogue
- Improved notifications for trivial flatpak app updates
- Lots of UI papercuts fixed
- Improved question about deleting data when uninstalling an app
- More safety reporting for uncommon flatpak app permissions

Spent an absolute age pulling network cables through conduit today. Does anyone have any tips for how to make it stress-free? I’m going to try cable lube next time.

It doesn’t have per-app stats, although that’s potentially on the long-term plan. A lot of technical foundation needs to be put in place for that first.
The widgets out of screenshot below the scroll line are just more toggle switches for various wellbeing settings.

The gnome-control-center panel I’ve been working on for the last many weeks is now ready for review, including a new chart widget for showing time spent using the computer screen (so you have some visibility into your compute use habits).
Glad to finally have this off my plate and on its way to being reviewed and hopefully merged.
