all of these are now imported with original artworks (regardless of size).
I’m also re-importing Behind the Schemes so that it has all the right artwork.
There is now no image size limit for you. Use it wisely 😂

yes. For apps and users it oaths same problem. 30MB images or gifs can cripple most podcast players and burn through data

Fixed and imported. This feed challenged my feedparser. Lot's of great stuff in there, but it broke on several things, like timestamps etc.. Also not all episode art made it over, as some of the gifs are too large ( > 30 MB).

@npub1ma9…vt3t Hey, I saw you imported Thunder Road Media and that took a while. The reason is that it was stuck on m3u8 files, which we cannot import. We're flexible, just not that flexible. The mp3 episodes are imported.

aha, I see. What you can do when you import is check “Import as Private show”. When you do that, we never podping or submit to Podcast Index. It is still a public feed, but not submitted anywhere. That should work right?
You manage the show on Podhome, which generates and RSS feed, and then you take the info from the feed into your selfhosted feed.

When you import a show, images don't have to be square. We just enforce that when you manually upload images (only for episode art by the way, not chapter art), to make the apps display it correctly

3.2 When you create new live episodes, all values that you previously entered will be repopulated, so you don't have to enter those again
3.3 The same goes for value blocks. Once configured for the show level, these are easily changed, or copied on episode level

3. I'm sorry, but I can't open up the feed for editing. It would be a big change, as whatever you change would not feed back into the database and UI and it will add a lot of support work. However:
3.1 When you have a live item in your RSS feed, you can copy it from the RSS feed and paste it into other feeds/programs. Or in Podhome, duplicate to shows you have there

1. We removed the 1400px limit also for episode artwork (it wasn't in place for chapter artwork or gifs). We still expect square images as that doesn't break podcast apps
2. I noticed that you had your live episode, ended that, and created a new one as a duplicate. It's better for podcast apps to publish the live ended episode, as that is the same episode as the live and have the same GUID (maybe you just did this because the audio processing didn't work)....

The audio processing failed for some reason, which is why it didn't work. The original audio did get uploaded, so I just reuploaded it and now was able to publish the episode. We'll look into why this happened. Sorry about that.

Yes, we do have that (live value link).
Also, you can copy (duplicate) any episode to your own podcast, or any other podcast you own. So you could copy the live episodes if needed.
How about this: We build in the chat tag support for live and then you can try it out.

Hey! We don't allow direct edits of the feed, but we do have a lot of features. 1. We don't have chat in live items yet, but we can add that for sure. 2. We have a whole interface for Value Time Splits: https://podhome.fm/docs/use-value-4-value. 3. Maybe? I'm not sure where you want to stick that 😃 4. You can upload video for your normal episode enclosure. we auto-convert that to audio. You can also use the video now for alternate enclosure and have both audio and video

for Podhome podcasters it saves the podcasters from using another system, and includes the payments plus messages in a dashboard.
Fro podcast listeners, and for podcasters that don’t host with us, it would be similar to patreon and others.

For Podhome hosting we are thinking about building a way for listeners to support podcasters easier.
Podcasters can easily create a payment page with some info about their show and episodes, which will be surfaced through the funding tag. Listeners can open pay one-time (amount they like), or monthly with fiat money.
As with everything, this will be included in the Podhome hosting subscription. Is anybody that doesn't host with Podhome interested in this as a stand-alone product?

Do you ever get messages from "Podcast Promoters" promising lots of downloads and ad revenue? Most of us do 😄
In "Bad Podcast Pitches" Bryan Entzminger reads some of the messages of these promoters and breaks them down. Highly recommended. This is a modern podcast and is even broadcasted live. Hosted on podhome.fm

this might come from ID3 tags. Whatever chapters you have, we embed them into the audio file, specifically for apps like Apple Podcasts. If they don’t use that anymore , we’ll stop doing that. That would de great!

for description I check description first, and then summary.
For chapters I check p2.0 first, then PodLove, then description.
And for updating chapters:. I get all the episode details initially, and upon user refresh (pull down), and when the details where fetched x time ago (not sure what the time is I used there), I refresh data directly from the feed

Chapters I get from many sources. If available from the p2.0 chapters file. Or from Podlove chapters, and even from chapter indications in the description (like 00:00 - introduction), which lots of people use.
