Claude Code is good at doing research!
In this case helping find the disposition of 126,000 digitized US Supreme Court dockets (cert denied or full opinion), and then reporting why in a archive.org review (using like a wikipedia discussion).
This took real hand-holding and QA to be sure, but it is super helpful. Looked at court listener, the supreme court site (and the old one via the wayback machine!), the Caselaw Access Project at harvard. So good.

In my experience in San Francisco, airport taxis are about 2x more than uber/lyft. And the taxi drivers are not getting 2x more money than uber/lyft drivers so there are inefficiencies and intermediary skims that take most of the money.

Better Rideshare: Airport Ubers lined up, and you can get into ANY car, driver scans your QR code, and go. Immediately.
No 10-20 minute delay. No clog to match riders to cars.
This is how Taxi's work, but they are more expensive and no universal app. This is how Waymo could work, but they are not at most airports yet. A new competitor might do well with this trick: "AirRide"?
Many people have opted for rideshare-- lets have it work better. Other ideas?

Interesting point.
All the waymo are electric, which is good in my book.
and yes, they can optimize themselves as rolling batteries.
Maybe they could stop by local solar farms.
Maybe they could time when to recharge.
I like that they are starting to park themselves in between trips in SF (of course it causes a ruckus). (I see many many waymo's "dead heading" in other words: driving with no passengers).

as for steep hils: I tested the zeromax on the lombard zig-zag: no problem.

Yes, souped-up golf carts and they are being used for general mobility... In Rome they are common, in Amsterdam they are everywhere!
And in gated communities, like in Palm Springs. Now San Francisco.
Americans can keep the SUV in the garage and drive LSVs.

Why SUV when you can LSV? (Low Speed Vehicles)
25mph max car! street legal in San Francisco.
Can drive on almost all roads in the city.
This one is not that great, imho (but try it at gocar). I want to see more LSVs. Amsterdam has many, and many types.

Minor good news for libraries: "A Victory for IMLS as Court Blocks Trump’s Attempt to Dismantle Agency"
IMLS is the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which funds leadership training and R&D in libraries in the US. A small % of library funding but important.
but I believe everyone is gone and grants cancelled so not sure what happens if funding returns-- who gets employed?

Canada used to imported 34% of US wine exports. (harder to figure out of total production).
So at least of exports, losing canada is significant.

US wine sales are way down, I have seen analyses saying it is people turning from alcohol,
but also Canadians dropped US wine almost completely (see graph). Pissing off your neighbors has consequences.
