Walter McFarlane, age 46, was recorded as a cemetery watchman. The family story says that he was a night watchman at historic Rosehill Cemetery. That job is unimaginable. About five years earlier he had suffered a traumatic brain injury on the job. He had been a motorman on the streetcars, which did not have a good safety record. A newspaper article in 1904 reported that 143 electric streetcar accidents had occurred in Chicago across 27 days in June, with 10 deaths and 166 injured. These accidents were so common that his never was reported in the newspaper, or I have not found it. They also had a daughter, Junie May. After about 23 years of marriage, Laura sought and was granted a divorce. Her fate is also a mystery. John held a variety of jobs during his life, including streetcar conductor, milk delivery man and farmer. He and his wife, Anna Wender, died seven months apart in 1921. I hide the capsule in Greenies and she gobbles it down. Then she finds someplace to crash and that's it. I have to scoop her up and put her floppy self in the carrier. She is awake, but hasn't got much fight. Without meds, she angry screams all the way to the vet and back. With the meds, she barely makes a peep. As the meds wear off and she wakes up, she is uncoordinated and has trouble jumping up on the couch or other places. I expect Donny will not be affected so much.
