we’ll just have to agree to disagree.
If a podcaster has ads and this then allows the end user to skip those, it can create issues for them with their sponsor. If the sponsor knows that a specific app makes that possible, they may exclude those from their stats for payment.
I’m not about the “ad-life,” but I can understand the issue that this may create for someone who is.

Once a podcaster verifies their podcast make a field in the Index that they are verified that podcast apps can then use to show it is a verified podcast. Kind of like the “blue checkmark” on X. @npub1rcn…dw4h @npub1fmx…wp74 There should be a mechanism for podcasters to remove their shows from the Index (besides asking someone to remove them). For example, I have several old feeds that definitely 404 and are not in Apple's directory, but are still in the Index. Just a thought.

Apple is very anti specific things in the Title field and have pulled shows in the past for "keyword stuffing" in the Title, for example. Users can have different titles in each field to avoid some of Apple's limitations.

the user should still be given the option to opt-out and have all the NOSTR integration hidden without reducing the functionality of the application. That reduction in functionality occurred when NOSTR was integrated. @npub1gw9…74re has a valid point (shockingly) on this one. I personally don't want anything I do on NOSTR, but if your app was the only game in town, I wouldn't have that option.
