When you harangue people not to buy an indie author's work because it's on Amazon (even only on Amazon!), they don't cancel their Amazon subscription, they just don't pay that independent author any money.

You are not going to improve working conditions in an Amazon warehouse by boycotting an indie author.
You will not make a disabled person cancel their Prime account because it's the best/easiest way to get groceries an option medication in a society violently hostile to the perceived 'laziness' if being trapped at home.
People keep using Amazon because they get SO MUCH through ONE COMPANY in a timely fashion and it's not worth it to lose all those benefits by switching to 15 different other>

DO NOT confuse us with the limited number of options we have about who we work with.
You may not like it (I don't!) but most people just find it easier to go to a website they already know and trust. You telling people to boycott an indie author for publishing there is very unlikely to affect Amazon's business practices, which has much more to do with a lack of proper regulation (it should have been broken up!), and the fact that people get next day delivery, KU, and Prime video in one package.

People in the feed complaining about selling through Amazon and: LISTEN, I never liked doing it but when I first started out it was the easiest option and having a cognitive disability makes it Really Hard to research others.
I have, very slowly, been adding stuff via Draft2Digital, but it's REALLY HARD AND TIME CONSUMING, using precious energy & time I could have spent on getting new books out.

as someone on benefits who was unable to claim benefits she qualified for under the last labour government, I didn't.
Also, they were pretty anti-benefit and anti-disabled in the run up to the election as well.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have them and not the Tories, but I've been managing my expectations. They're not as fascist as the Tories, but they're not really very socialist these days.
