The example often given is, the atom bomb can only be created in a society that believes in its use. Another such society, constructed a different way, may not desire to make such a thing.
I believe it is only through capitalist means and ends that LLMs could ever be created in such a way that they do such extensive harm.
In a non-capitalist society, LLMs would have no value.

I think then this FEP looks like the place to look at, and to have conversations with people who run open relays in that list you shared a while back. otherwise, tags.pub would have to implement the consent model that to be fair the entire infrastructure should support.
for my part, I'll have to look at it another time. My capacity is limited at the moment and i have small worries about github that i hope places like codeberg and others may one day fully solve. but thank you x

Ah i see. that sounds more like a responsible for than a responsible to.
My first answer would be the most relevant. we are responsible for each other as long as we are complicit in that harm.
With acknowledgement that there is no ethical consumption under capitalism.
If Americans learnt from minneapolis, is that they're all our children.
doing what one can to not buy american goods, write to one's MPs, connect with your central american friends or attend a protest is necessary.

Many of the examples you've pointed to as what is claimed to be solarpunk, aren't necessarily what I would describe as solarpunk. and the ones that I agree with, are either co-opted away from their intended goal such as the chobani ad, or didn't do well financially. Strange World.
Although they exist as artefacts, they aren't mainstream or desired. If anything, utopias and fiction with no real villains aren't marketable, IMO 2/5

Judging from the articles I can see, there doesn't seem to be much that tell me about how the Venezuelan people are doing, whether better or worse. it's just focused on the leaders or on Maduro.
From what I understand, most Venezeulans don't care about oil being taken by the US. They know that's why they are there. It's said to be a worthwhile price to pay for Maduro being removed. It's not a lot to go on.

I've not heard much of what's been happening in Venezuela. This might be bad of me, but I really only looked for news on the fediverse... and it feels the focus just switched to Iran without us catching up with Venezuela. Where would I go to learn more?

In part because one of them does not allow nudity and the other might be a server in the US. apologies. I'm certainly worried about the US and don't want data there. I'd like to believe that is all it takes. But it's also hard to look at NASA, while the US is in the midst of a coup. A fascist takeover. If I had wanted to come watch the space launch, I wouldn't be able to. Not in the country and not in the state. It just wouldn't be safe.
I'm excited for Artemis, but unlike Apollo with the backdrop of the civil rights movement, all I see is an immense takeover suffering because of the world billionaires built. #space #sls #artemis2 #nasa

Thank you for the transparency on it. I know we all must fight fascism together. And we are all united in that front. But it is also true artists did make art to a deadline before AI.
I'm happy to focus on the article because it is important to us all, and share it. But cross solidarity support means we fight on all fronts together. Fighting fascism, (including tech fascism) also means fighting AI.
IMO, As a practical rule, if AI is used in art, it should be labelled as.

I wish it was better but it is what it is.
I'd say if it's safe for you to do so to go to a protest for a cause you care about. There are useful skills you learn when you do... there's new community that may open up, and when things get really pressing the next time, you'll know what to do next time. You'll be prepared.
The experience would be useful from a solarpunk perspective, if it's safe enough for you to engage in. But again, no protest is safe.

I think he gets there in the end with everything that's happening and it is good that's he woken up and stepped up. But it took time. It took his friends being beaten up.
I'm not against folks coming around. It's really good to see and here. it's just sometimes for some folks, it's not a 'how many have to be taken before I do something', it's a 'who do I care about that has to be taken', before I do something.

We are 200 Riders. We left the beautiful city of Omelas. it was known for its grand architecture, and was beset by a growing addiction and darkness which took hold of all.
We decided we no longer want to be held hostage to this and took our loved ones and our mounts with us. Even though it felt like we had no choice. It was heart wrenching to leave.
We hope to find others like us and new land in which we can settle and build anew.

That sounds interesting, The heritage of banishment sounds like an important story in people's minds.
I'm a person interested in TJ and its inclusion in Solarpunk. Often times imaginings of Solarpunk tend to focus on the technological advancement while neglecting to also evolve the social advancement aspect.
Like Is there currently a prison abolitionist movement in Uganda and how would their proponents advance that movement by the setting of your film?
