Don't put yourself down, that's why you're getting an image. The intuition explanation is exactly what this picture looks like. AI doesn't have explicit definition for anything. It has just vague ideas of word groups and it's contents.
For these word groups it has between 75% and 95% accuracy ratio. That's why it often produces grammatically and logically perfect responses(95%) and other times it's mixes up a man with a king(75%).
For scale, that picture is about 400.000 words worth of dictionary.

Same deal, last used order, but it's more information displayed than just icons with title of current highlighted one. Like now i have 11 windows in 4 3 2 2 multiples, so i it's more immediate to where i'm clicking with window title immediately available for all.
I also use window border highlighting and place my windows in regions where i typically do things of one kind. That helps too.
There's also windows/special+tab to switch between windows of the same application if you run multiples.
