Even making a quick note will help you remember more dreams tho. A year ago I started noting daily, not much more than a paragraph, even only as much as you wrote here, and I’ve remembered many more dreams. The strangest thing, forgotten dreams have occasionally returned in this process.

I grew up in a culture that expected government repression. As a child I was regularly told by grownups that, one day, I would be an outlaw through no fault of my own; that one day I would need to take my family and flee in order to continue to practice the religion I was born into. I was also told that many of the people I trusted would be double, would be duplicitous and selfish.
I was never told this by my family, for which I’m grateful. Only people who “look out for the interests of others” would approach me and scare the living shit out of me as an elementary school student. Some people are really something.
But, after all, I read this today and it took me back. Maybe it will come in handy. Maybe I’ll add one to my backpack.

I worked on a construction site where all the workers are walking around at 35 feet height on inches wide walls. No one bats an eye. Then one day a guy goes to slide down the flange of a column like usual and slips. His feet hit the ground , legs buckle hard, and his knees shatter against the steel flange the column. He screams and writhes.
Every other worker on the walls lost their nerve in an instant and had to be picked up in cherry pickers.

Maybe check Morpheus Prototypes out. It’s been 10 years since I’ve done anything with them but they were good quality and cheaper back then than some other places like solid concepts (now part of Stratasys).

Well, more often than not I’ve felt out of step with the human world as presented. It generally feels unpleasant and incomprehensible. Interacting with individual humans, however, who are open and curious and a bit cantankerous, this can be great.

It’s true that I fell forehead first onto an exposed circular saw blade at age two.
Forehead injuries must be more common than not for children, right? Being around a lot of kids these days I see they tend to go face first into life—and that often leads to tears.
There was no G.A.T.E. program in my town, but the description of making connections, having a deep curiosity and love of learning—but an abhorrence for the slowness of school and its organization—resonates. Always wanted to be either outside under the sun/rain/snow or in a corner with a book or seven.

If I remember correctly, there is a gem of a nursery in Sumner for bonsai starts, specializing in japanese maples and azalea. I think it’s called Higashi Nursery. Ever since I visited there many years ago it’s been in the back of my mind
