I put together a new box last year (mobo, ram, cpu ) and made the mistake of just hooking up my old drives -two old SSDs and a WD for storage--w/o any booting anything. It was all working until last week when the two SSDs went south. Now I wait for a new one to arrive to properly install and boot.
