I’ll admit that when the Alberta NDP won in 2015, they had me fooled for a bit with their “social license” approach to fossil fuels. Compared with the previous 40 years of conservative rule, it seemed progressive. At least they phased out coal plants. But Avi’s is the only NDP vision I’ve seen that truly acknowledges and addresses the climate crisis.

It sucks feeling like your vote doesn’t matter, and it’s terrible to not have a party you want to vote for. I will say, and yes I’m embarrassed about it, I never used to vote in Alberta elections because my whole life there were nothing but Con governments. Nothing was ever going to change. My vote didn’t matter. Until one day in 2015, the unthinkable happened. The Cons lost. Now we’re back under Con rule, and it’s worse than ever. But now I always vote.
